FLOWVERS SHARE BEWITCHING VISUALS FOR ‘WHEN IT COMES TO IT’

A REAL STATEMENT OF INTENT FROM THE SOUTH COAST FOUR-PIECE

Fast rising Portsmouth indie rock upstarts FLOWVERS have shared the bewitching music video for their first single of 2022 ‘When It Comes To It’

A real statement of intent from the South Coast four-piece, which saw them clinch a spot on Spotify’s Hot New Bands playlist, ‘When It Comes To It’ is a buzzing blend of arena-ready riffs and commanding percussion. Showcasing an accomplished and considered sound way beyond their tender years, it’s a number that aches to be played at full volume and demands you to press play for yourself.

Now paired with bewitching and eerie visuals crafted by Tayo Walker-Allen and Alf Percival the band explain the concept, “Since the band’s inception, we’ve always been focused on creating accurate visual representations of our songs within our own means. This time was no different with our roughest and rawest, most chaotic song perpetuating a more insightful representation of FLOWVERS.”

“We teamed up with Bournemouth University students Tayo Walker-Allen and Alf Pervical and with special access to fisheye lens’ to film in the grounds by Casemates Rehearsal Studio, we all participated in the directing of this unashamedly ‘homestyle’ video. A special thanks to Paul from Casemates for letting us film at his rehearsal space where we’ve grown up together as a band and to Tayo and Alf for being the guiding light on this video.”

It follows on from previous singles ‘Flowers‘ – a slow burner that builds up to an epic crescendo, weaving strands of indie, rock and post-punk to create a colossal four minutes much akin to the sound of Talking Heads meeting Kings Of Leon – and ‘Far Away‘. A song that oozes with the same frenetic energy once present during the 2012 B-Town indie scene. The mammoth singles have been praised by Clash MagazineDorkRecord Of The DayAtwood Magazine and CLOUT to name but a few.

Managing to take lockdown in their stride, FLOWVERS blossomed throughout 2021, taking time to develop their sound, which has since presented them with some fruitful opportunities. Last year the Portsmouth band appeared on Scruff Of The Neck TV on Twitch – as part of a mammoth weekender celebrating new bands from up and down the country – and released of their Old Chapel Demos EP, which included an inclusion on the X-POSURE List on Radio X. They also played at the iconic Isle of Wight Festival, appearing on the This Feeling stage, sold out shows on a headline tour around the UK, appeared in the studio at talkSPORT Radio and had their music played on Soccer AM .

FLOWVERS’ growing hook-laden sound has seen them become regulars on BBC Introducing in the Solent as well as garnering support across the board on music blogs. They’ve amassed over one million streams on Spotify after featuring on their New Music Friday and Hot New Bands playlists, whilst live they have played shows with the likes of Swim DeepJAWSBlack HoneyAnother Sky and Coach Party.

And 2022 shows no signs of slowing down.
