SHARES THE VSUALS FOR ALT-ROCK JUGGERNAUT TRACK ‘THE WAKE UP’

MAMMOTH HEADLINE SHOWS TAKE PLACE IN SHEFFIELD AND BRISTOL THIS MONTH

lostboy has shared the visuals for brand new single, ‘The Wake Up’

Another sonic sucker punch of arena-ready alt-rock, the politically-charged number is visceral track that highlights the current issues faced by our society in 2022 set to a soundtrack of ear worm melodies and anthemic crescendos – and once again harnessing an acute colloquialism in its lyrics much akin to Catfish and the Bottlemen and Courteeners.

Explaining the video in more detail lostboy says: “Sheffield’s got some mad spots where you can see across the the city, Bolehill is one of our favourites. It felt right to shoot the video there, and I like to think that I speak for a lot of the people who live in Sheff by addressing the working class struggle. It’s time for change and time that those in charge woke up to the mess they’ve made.”

And on the track itself he says: “I saw ‘The Wake Up’ as my opportunity to address the struggles the working class are faced with on a daily basis. With the cost of living soaring and wages under paying, it’s hard watching those closest to me have to endure such difficult times – with nothing but a hard winter to look towards. It felt right to play my part in shedding light on the issues at hand, get us talking more and get us together. It’s time for those making the decisions to ‘wake up’ to what is a reality for so many. The more we talk the harder we can push for positive changes.”

‘The Wake Up’ follows in the footsteps of previous colossal single ‘Overdue’, a blend of surging riffs and sharp percussion, and a song performed in Manchester’s City Square before Manchester City FC took on Nottingham Forest back in August, by personal request of the northern football club.

This month lostboy will also be playing his two biggest headline shows to date in Bristol and Sheffield – two cities very close to the band’s heart. It follows on from their triumphant UK tour back in May which saw lostboy and his band of brothers bring their euphoric performances to London, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Cardiff and Birmingham.
