Tick tock… tick tock… it’s finally FEVER o’clock as the
Hull five-piece return with ascendant new anthem:
Fever – Time Will Define Very Clever Records – Thursday 8th July
Weeks, days and hours tick down until Fever hit the road this year, including arena dates with label bosses, Blossoms, but before the doors open on newly announced UK Tour and
summer festival dates, the indie five-piece reveal their new, ‘wall of sound’ single, Time Will Define. Finding lead singer, James Harrod in unrestrained form, singing around pulsing synths and into a speaker-bursting crescendo, the track is an unambiguous call to embrace new beginnings.
With 19 confirmed live dates in their touring diary so far, including a wild, rearranged headline celebration at Hull Social on Thu 23 September, the band’s rising optimism meets their existing, radio-ready, soaring songwriting in every note of their newest material.
Still only five singles young, having gifted the world the straight-up indie winner, Honesty , in summer 2020, alongside the majesty of International Dream , Electric , Money Love and their
debut, Jungle Man , the early Fever canon is already impossibly strong. For the band it’s Time Will Define that finds them turning the dial yet further. Harrod, says: ’Time Will Define’ is inspired by holding on to a deteriorating relationship and kidding yourself into thinking things could still work out, even though you know it’s over…
Sonically, this track feels like the first step in a new direction for the band. It still sounds like the band that we set out to be, but it’s a leap forward.”
