Australian Indie Gems The Paper Kites

Announce US Tour This Fall

Australia’s indie-folk groundbreakers The Paper Kites will play to larger North American audiences than ever on their just-announced fall tour – including at venues over 1,000 capacity in Nashville (Brooklyn Bowl), Boston (The Wilbur Theater), Toronto (Danforth Music Hall) and more. This upcoming run builds on an exciting stretch for the five-piece that’s seen them top one billion total streams on Spotify, collect a Platinum record in the US and record a brand-new album we’ll be announcing at the end of the week….

Confidentially for now – their upcoming album titled ‘At The Roadhouse’ was recorded in a remote Australian village that’s smaller than a lot of the venues they’ll play on the fall tour. After a year of non-stop travel the band relocated together to Campbells Creek – an old gold-mining town far removed from their Melbourne home – with the goal to hand-build the venue of their dreams: “a combination of all the greatest dive bars and late-night watering holes we’d been to” was the mission.

Making the dream a reality in the lobby of an abandoned hotel, “The Roadhouse” was born and filled with live music by the band around the clock: creating new songs by day, performing them to locals and passers-by at night, and recording right there the next morning. As word began to spread, audiences grew quickly from within the community, and music ideas blossomed outside the pressures of daily life. The group realized they had captured something special and unique at that roadhouse, and they knew they had to share it with the world.

‘At The Roadhouse’ comes September 1…we’re officially announcing this Friday May 19 with the track “Hurts So Good”
