John Whiteleather Band

The John Whiteleather Band is based in Sarasota, Florida. The line up is currently a trio with: John Whiteleather on Guitar/Vocals, Mary Beth Ponder on Violin/Fiddle/Vocals and Cliffe Shoose on Stand Up Bass. John and Mary Beth, formerly known as Swamp Donkie, teamed up with ex-Boneshakers’ bassist, Cliffe to form one of the area’s most unique sounds. Covering songs from Springsteen, Mellencamp, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle and many other popular artists, the band is also well-known for their original music. The band also performs internationally, most recently in Sweden, summer 2018. Real people playing real instruments.
