Gator Harley Davidson in Leesburg, Florida hosted a drove of live music fans by opening their grounds to camping this past Saturday night November 8, 2020. Blandini was the night’s entertainment. All Music Magazine couldn’t let an opportunity to cover the nations number one cover band performing in Central Florida go without their coverage. Mark Horan of MarkHoran.Pictures LLC caught up with the band on their first show since we covered them in Sturgis, South Dakota in August.
The stage was set under a tent in the parking lot and picnic tables were arranged six feet apart. When I arrived at 5:30pm, it was an hour before showtime, and the tables were full. The tent was between the camping area and the Harley Davidson dealership. Campfires were a blaze in what appeared to be barrels. With strong winds, this made sense as open fires would have been too dangerous. There was a 50/50 raffle going on for a Crown Royal quilt hang from a line stage left, and just after the announcement of the raffle winners, Blandini took the stage.
Blandini is Jeff Blando (Slaughter/Vince Neil) on guitar, Paul Drennan (Lynch Mob/Three Forks Road) on bass, and Will Hunt (Evanescence/Black Label Society/Slaughter/Lynch Mob) on drums. This high-powered lineup played covers for Peter Frampton, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, and Ted Nugent to name a few. The show was scheduled from 6:30pm to 8:00pm but was extended until around 8:45pm. The crowd was hungry for live music and would not let them off the stage. The show got extended and the band started to take requests from the crowd.
Every Blandini show I have attended has always been all out, kick ass rock-n-roll. No ballads in their set list, not one. These musicians give everything they have in every show. When not touring with their international bandiety,Slaughter,Lynch Mobs, the members take this project very seriously and have a blast playing the covers of artists they grew up on. Get out and have a good time, every time with Blandini if their playing near you!
