C Note Delivers Intimate Hometown Reunion Concert at The Abbey in Orlando, Florida on March 7, 2024

Orlando 2000 era boy band C Note has reunited! They performed a special hometown reunion show at The Abbey in downtown Orlando, Florida on March 7, 2024. Andrew “Dru” Rogers, David “D’Lo” Perez, Jose “Brody” Martinez, and Raul Molina delivered a night to remember, in a sold-out club packed with passionate fans, lifelong friends, and family members. O-Town member Trevor Penick opened the show. Mickey Bono provided the beats and DJ spins between acts. Their new single “Still” will be available on April 5th on all streaming platforms.

Brody, Raul, and David were originally in a group that had local success winning talent shows all over Central Florida. When that group disbanded, Raul called on an old friend who had previously been a part of another singing group together. That friend happened to be Dru. Once these four began singing together, it was obvious their voices were meant for each other. Shortly thereafter the word of these four voices was brought to the attention of Trans Continental Records, the music and marketing force behind Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

1998 marked a turning point for C Note. When not rehearsing their stage show or cutting tracks for their debut album, the guys were performing on stages across the country and thrilling fans of all ages and genders with their hot, high-energy stagecraft and passionate vocals. They toured with acts such as Britney Spears, Brandy, Silk and Cher.  Long before the release of their album, C Note had appeared in the pages of Time, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and Entertainment Weekly, and had been featured on Fox News and MTV.

The Orlando, Florida quartet released its Epic Records debut album, “Different Kind of Love” on May 25th, 1999. C Note is known as a vocal group for bringing a sensual Latin flavor to their blend of pop, dance, and R&B sounds. In their debut album, the bilingual foursome moves easily from English to “Spanglish,” from soulful a cappella harmonies to alluring R&B sounds and explosive dance numbers. Among the highlights from Different Kind of Love are “Wait ‘Till I get Home,” written and produced by veteran hip-hop hitmakers Full Force, included in both English and Spanish versions; and C Note’s cover of “I Like,” the 1989 hit by Guy, with its clever sample from KC & the Sunshine Band’s “That’s The Way (I Like It).” On the love side, C Note excels on the blissful bedroom ballads “One Night With You”, “Right Next to Me”, and another fine Full Force production, “My Heart Belongs To You.”

On a warm early spring evening in downtown Orlando, C Note VIP “Day Ones” showed up early for a private meet and greet, photo op, and soundcheck performance. Later, the doors were opened to all, and the classy club was filled into capacity as the DJ spun tunes. Unique merch and band experiences were available. Family and friends mingled and hugged, until it was time for Trevor Penick of fellow Orlando boy band O-Town to take the stage. Penick warmed up the crowd with a mix of originals, O-Town hits and cover songs. He was energetic and well received by the fans, who danced and sang along.

The moment of truth arrived, as the room was darkened, and old video clips of C Note played on the screen. Brody, Raul, David and Dru stepped on stage to screams of joy. These guys were looking good and ready to sing and dance. They all have amazing voices, each of which was on display throughout the evening as they shared lead, backing and harmony vocals. There were several costume changes and plenty of choreographed dance moves. The boys had several surprises up their sleeves. They brought their daughters to the stage, they invited Day One super fans to be serenaded on the stage, and they closed the show with Trevor Penick and Frankie Toma joining them for “One Night With You”. It was a triumphant return. C Note made their family members and their city proud with their highly entertaining performance.
