Jason Derulo took Manchester by storm when he brought his Nu King show to AO Arena and All Music Magazine UK’s Billy Seagrave was there to witness it. “Nu King” is Jason Derulo’s fifth studio album, released in 2024.
If you were a teenager in the 2010s, Derulo probably holds a special place in your heart. His R&B pop hits like “Ridin’ Solo,” “Trumpets,” and “Whatcha Say” were the soundtrack to countless parties, pre-drinks, and bedroom dances.
On a lively Sunday evening, fans of the RB Soul star flocked to Arena to witness the dynamic pop sensation take the stage. The anticipation was high as fans eagerly awaited a night filled with chart-topping hits and unforgettable performances.
But first up was Afro B and he set the stage on fire with his infectious beats and energetic presence, the British singer, known for hits like “Bom Bom” and “Wo Wo Wo,” brought his infectious energy and fusion of Afrobeat and dancehall rhythms to the arena stage and had fans grooving, setting the perfect tone for the evening warming the crowd up ready for the main event.

The arena was buzzing as fans waited for the main man. Opening to a sea of lights a huge digital backscreen and pulsating rhythms, Jason Derulo kicked off the night with “Nu King”, showing off his signature dance moves whilst his powerhouse vocals, filled the venue. It was an explosive way to start the night and it continued with hit after hit to the delight of his fans. With a huge ensemble of dancers covering the stage, it pulsated energy which the sold-out arena fed off and then fed back to the stage, the set included the infectious “Talk Dirty” to the soulful “Whatcha Say,”
Fans seem to sing along to every lyric, dance with abandon. Jason Derulo’s charismatic stage presence and undeniable talent were something to behold, ensuring a night that would be etched in their memories for years to come. Derulo’s performance at the Manchester AO Arena was a testament to his status as a talented artist and true entertainer, the night was a celebration of unity, joy, and the power of music to bring people together.
