Mammoth rolled into The Dome at The Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut with their The End Tour. “The End” being there album which was released in October of 2025. Don’t let this name fool you, as Wolfgang Van Halen has said he has lots of ideas for his next album which they have penciled in for next year. Opening the evening were James and the Cold Gun and 10 Years.
James and The Cold Gun is an alternative rock band from Cardiff, Wales, UK. These guys were excited to be playing to a packed house on a Sunday night in the USA. Fronted by James Joseph on lead vocals and guitar, these guys had the crowd’s attention from right from the start. James Joseph and James Biss started jamming together in 2019 and released their first EP in 2020 entitled “False Start”. Bass duties are performed by Gaby Elise, also of PETSEMATARY. Benny Mead kept a cool beat on the drums. James and The Cold Gun get their name from a Kate Bush song of the same name and get their influences from many 80’s and 90’s Alt-rock bands such as Queens of The Stone Age and Soundgarden. They rocked a short 7-song set leaving the crowd wanting more.

Alternative metal band 10 Years was next to grace the stage in front of a rowdy crowd ready to rock out. Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, 10 Years brought their a-game to Wallingford, Connecticut playing a ten-song set for the fans. Formed in 1999 and best known for their breakthrough album, The Autumn Effect which produced the hit songs “Wasteland” and “Through the Iris”, with “Wasteland” hitting the number one spot on several alternative rock charts. Also, in 2017, they had a single in the top 5 of The Billboard US Mainstream Rock Songs Chart with “Novacaine”. They started their set with “Russian Roulette” off of 2008’s Division album and then a few songs off of Feeding the Wolves before playing fan favorite “Novacaine”. Wolfgang Van Halen has been steadily gaining a following with his band Mammoth. Last time they played The Dome at The Toyota Oakdale Theatre was just over three years ago and they were opening for Alter Bridge. “Wolfie” was delighted that they were headlining the same venue to a near sold out crowd. Wolf rocks the stage in the most humble way, focusing on guitar and lead vocals, but also hitting the keyboards from time to time. Mammoth performed songs off of all three of their studio albums with the crowd singing along to numerous songs. His touring lineup consists of Frank Sidoris on guitar and backing vocals, Jonathan Jourdan on guitar and backing vocals, Ronnie Ficarro on bass and backing vocals, and Garrett Whitlock on Drums. Wolf had commented about their video wall behind them and noted that all of the animations were created by a human, Wayne Joyner, and not AI generated to which the crowd responded with a loud applause. After performing a full set and band intros, they finished the night with an encore set consisting of “Don’t Back Down” and “The End”.
The End Tour packed The Dome and with good reason. Three hard rockin’ bands that will keep you wanting more. You can catch Mammoth on tour with these guys through April 4th, before they head out with Bush (No 10 Years) until May 15, and then head overseas to headline some more dates. There is no slowing down this train called Mammoth!
