Megadeth, Mudvayne, and All That Remains featured performances on August 10, 2024, at the Toyota Pavilion in Concord, California. The Toyota Pavilion, designed by Peter Walker, has been a prominent venue in the Bay Area music scene since the mid-90s. It was a dream come true to experience this event.
All That Remains performed first, originating from Springfield, Massachusetts. The band rocked the set for approximately 30 minutes, despite being stuck in the parking lot, they sounded great and energized the crowd.

Mudvayne opened their set with “Dig” and set the stage on fire. They powered through the first song with determination, leading into “Under My Skin” and “Not Falling. “Death Blooms” and “Fall Into Sleep” followed, and Mudvayne was fully in their element by that point. The bass player, Ryan Martinie was all over the stage, while the guitar players were stoic yet energetic in their playing. Lead singer Chad Gray, exuded a truly captivating energy. Then they went into “A Dull Boy” and “Nothing to Gein,” rocking like madmen. The set wrapped up with “World So Cold” and “Happy?” It was an amazing set indeed.

Megadeth’s 41st-anniversary tour was highly antisipated, despite being delayed by a year due to Dave Mustaine’s arm injury. They opened the show with “The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead”, setting the tone for a great show. Following up with “Dread and the Fugitive Mind” and “Hangar 18”, bringing amazing energy to the show and the momentum continued with the song “Liar”.
One of the standout moments of the evening was the song “Sweating Bullets”, which was phenomenal. Another highlight was “She-Wolf”, which Dave introduced as a song about an ex and a former friend. Dave’s stage presence was on point, and the crowd loved it. “Symphony of Destruction” was another high point, with the crowd fully engaged and shaking the building. “Mechanix” came next, followed by the title track of the album “Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying”, a thrilling live experience that everyone knew and loved. They closed the set with “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due”, leaving the crowd screaming for more. It’s a shame they had a curfew because they could have kept rocking into the night without a single complaint.

Photographer of about 10 years, I have been shooting concerts for about 8 of those years. I started to get serious about concert photography about 6 or 7 years ago and now try to shoot as many as I can. I shoot mostly rock but, have done some country and big band stuff. I love music and since I am nowhere close to being a musician, this is a way I can be a small part of what, in the words of Henry Rollins, “gets me through the highs, the lows and everything in between”.
