“NASTY” RONNIE of NASTY SAVAGE Talks First New Album In 20 Years, Tampa Metal Scene, Writing A Book October 11, 2024

“Nasty” Ron Galletti is the lead singer of Florida thrash legends Nasty Savage. Nasty Savage formed in 1983 and became one of the pioneers of the Tampa metal scene that gave birth to such acts as Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and so many more. Over the years, Nasty Savage has endured a number of lineup changes and reunions. They reformed in 2016 and have been active ever since. On October 11, 2024, Nasty Savage delivered another chapter in their legacy by releasing their first album in 20 years. It’s a great old school thrash album called Jeopardy Room and is now available on FHM Records.

In this interview, Ronnie talks all about the details around the new album. He tells us about the very beginnings of the Tampa Bay thrash and metal scene, stories of decapitated cats, and if he’s ever thought about writing an autobiography.

I want to give an extra special Thank You to Ronnie for battling floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and bad cell signals to be on the Dr. Music podcast. His efforts were incredible and I am so honored and grateful that he went to such great lengths. My sincerest thanks, Ronnie!

During Hurricane Milton, the Nasty Savage rehearsal space received 4-feet of water, and the band’s gear was destroyed. A fundraiser to help with the cost of replacing the gear has been started. Click HERE to help.
