“Most rock music at the moment is incredibly ponderous and boring and dull. [Dead Club City] is incredibly the opposite to that. It’s just really full of life, it’s vivacious. You can’t stop playing it. It’s just an amazing record.”
– Elton John
“Nothing But Thieves share an artful reverence for classic Manchester indie rock, but also maintain a pop sensibility and soul…[and] a sense of fun.” – SPIN
“One of today’s most refreshing indie bands.” – The Line of Best Fit
“Few bands can fasten the power of alternative rock with dramatic, soaring vocals and make it sound authentic. Nothing But Thieves do exactly that.” – PopMatters
“Led by the irrepressible Conor Mason, the Southend five-piece dazzled their doting crowd with a vulcanized fusion of Muse and Radiohead.” – The Guardian
“With punchy, alt-rock beats and crisp, powerful vocals, Nothing But Thieves has delivered nothing but gripping tracks and chart-topping studio albums since forming.” – 1883 Magazine
“[Nothing But Thieves] make the kind of music where every song is a potential chart assault. Their clean cut, structurally balanced sound staddles a number of styles, all of which get sharpened to a fine point through the lens of pop rock.” – Atwood Magazine
“Frontman Conor Mason was clearly born to front big rock bands in iconic venues.” – Kerrang!
“They’ve brought their A-game for their new album Dead Club City.” – Guitar World
“This album is an instantaneous ear worm…Packed with immediately memorable tracks, [Dead Club City] is sure to get heads bopping and mosh pits going.” – CLASH
“They have never sounded better. With a narrative that questions large-scale topics, you’ll be left contemplating topics such as shared consciousness – as well as pressing replay.” – Wonderland
“The sprawling, multi-faceted concept album Dead Club City [is] a triumphant mix of catchy melodies and 1980s synths wrapped in a dark morality play exploring fame, success and the need to feel seen.”
– Rock Sound
Platinum-selling English alt rock band Nothing But Thieves is kicking off the North American leg of their Welcome To The DCC World Tour tonight (September 12th) in Washington, DC with the first of many sold-out shows as they bring their acclaimed live show over the pond in support of their #1 new studio album, Dead Club City. See below for all North American tour dates and visit https://www.nbthieves.com/
Dead Club City, the fourth studio album from Nothing But Thieves available via RCA/Sony Music with U.S. distribution by AWAL, debuted at #1 on the UK album chart upon its June 30th release, marking the band’s first-ever #1 album. The concept record, which has received critical praise worldwide, is highlighted by the band’s hit singles “Overcome” and “Welcome To The DCC” and stirring rock anthem “Tomorrow Is Closed.” Epic pop track “Overcome” has amassed over 20 million global streams and been making waves at U.S. Alternative Radio as well as SiriusXM Alt Nation, while album opener “Welcome To The DCC,” the band’s highest charting track ever, has now accumulated more than 25 million global streams. With socially insightful lyrics and an adept ability to progress their sound and experiment between the diverse genres that shape them as a band, Nothing But Thieves marked an innovative new chapter with the release of Dead Club City. Throughout the 11-track collection, the five-piece showcase their city-sized, members-only club, Dead Club City. The album’s track list and overall narrative is formed by different characters and story arcs from in and around the city. Using the club as a focal point, it is easy to imagine the real-world meaning behind Dead Club City. Themes such as advertisement, unity, internet culture, the music industry, ageing and politics, as well as escapism and change are highlighted by the alienation or privilege of a members only club. Recorded and self-produced by NBT guitarist Dominic Craik alongside Jonathan Gilmore, the songs on Dead Club City are vividly alive with big ideas, pop hooks, soul flourishes, hip hop beats, crunchy riffs, and lead vocalist Conor Mason’s remarkable and slinky falsetto. A decade into their career, Nothing But Thieves has never sounded as vital, inspired and blisteringly adventurous as they do on Dead Club City.
Ahead of the tour’s launch, Nothing But Thieves released “Something On My Mind,” a new collaborative dance track with Purple Disco Machine and Duke Dumont, on September 8th – PRESS HERE to listen and PRESS HERE to watch the song’s music video.
Since forming over 10 years ago, Southend, UK quintet Nothing But Thieves – Conor Mason (vocals, guitar), Joe Langridge-Brown (guitars), Dominic Craik (guitars, keyboard), Philip Blake (bass), and James Price (drums) – has built a loyal and wide following for their impactful alt rock sound, amassing over 1.4 million worldwide album sales, 2 billion worldwide streams, and over 400 million video views in addition to multiple gold and platinum records around the world. The band first debuted in 2015 with their self-titled album Nothing But Thieves, featuring their #1 US Alternative radio single “Trip Switch,” followed by their 2017 acclaimed album, Broken Machine, which charted at #2 on the UK album chart, was hailed “one of the best rock albums of the year” by The Independent, and was recently certified Gold in the UK. They’ve since released the EP, What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way (2018), and their massively successful third album, Moral Panic (2020), which charted at #3, accrued over 320 million streams, and earned the band the Best Indie Act at Global Radio’s 2021 Awards. Nothing But Thieves released Moral Panic II in 2021 with both projects forming Moral Panic (The Complete Edition) and toured the new music throughout 2021 and 2022 with headline shows and festival dates in both the UK and Europe, including their biggest ever London headline show at O2 Arena and a 17,000-headlining show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, alongside a live support slot with The Rolling Stones in Lyon. Stateside, Nothing But Thieves has performed at such marquee festivals as Coachella, Lollapalooza, and BottleRock and appeared on top late night TV programs including Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Conan.
