OF VIRTUE
Release new single, Sober
Upcoming Album, Omen, Out Sept 29 via Arising Empire

OF VIRTUE have released their brand new single and music video for ‘Sober‘, a cautionary tale on substance abuse taken from their upcoming full-length album »Omen«, due 29th September via Arising Empire

On the new track, the band comment:
“‘Sober’ is a cautionary tale about the effects that addiction can have not only on the user, but friends, family or anyone that is close to them. It is hitting that “rock bottom” with no where else to go except for finally turning over a new leaf. It can be hard to accept accountability for your actions when it has damaged so many things and make it harder to stop the self destructive behaviour that got you there in the first place.

Delving further into the deep-rooted substance abuse culture, they continue:
“The substance abuse has gotten out of control and you start to see the effects it can have on not only yourself, but the ones you care about. People often distance themselves from those who display toxic behaviours and patterns out of self preservation. The song relays that the user understands this but cannot stop themselves from their own impulses and self destructive behaviours, despite the irreparable damage they are doing. Being sober requires accountability, which is only attained by taking responsibility and accepting the truth and consequences of your actions. In the end, we want to believe that if we simply stop using that all of their problems will go away – but at the same time, using seems to be the only thing that can give comfort since there is no one left to turn to.

Progression, or more generally, change, is a constant in music; in order to adapt and survive, you must grow and develop—no band knows this as much as Michigan heavy music act Of Virtue.
Born from the blistering cold, barren fields of Michigan and erupting into an internationally recognized and critically acclaimed alternative powerhouse, Of Virtue’s growth is nothing short of jaw dropping. Whether it’s having shared their music with fans in over 30 countries across the globe, amassing a multitude of Billboard charting positions, gaining Top 50 Mediabase radio play slots, having over 20 million total streams or beyond—Of Virtue is always looking forward to change and progress, to evolve and grow. The band combine an eclectic taste for the melodic, catchy and ethereal with a foundation seeping with  brooding, thick guitars thanks to guitarists Damon Tate & Mike Valadez along with a penchant for multifaceted vocal tonalities shared by vocalists Tyler Ennis & Damon Tate. All of this is brought together by the monstrous rhythm section featuring Ryan Trinh on drums. With this lineup at their disposal, Of Virtue has cemented themselves a diverse and engaging act drawing influence from all types and styles of music to create something that is truly their own.
With their next record, »Omen«, on the way they have even further expanded on what makes them who they are, and by doing so they bring a warning—tread lightly and base today on yesterday or you may not get to tomorrow.

Set for September 29th, »Omen« will be available in limited colored vinyls and CD, together with unique merch options at the Arising Empire online shopImpericon band shop.

Our Hollow, Our Home, a prominent metalcore band hailing from Southampton, UK, has made an electrifying return with a new line-up, promising to usher in a new era for the group. Their reemergence is marked by the release of their first single ‘Downpour‘, a track that retains their signature blend of aggressive, yet melodic soundscapes while potentially showcasing influences from the band’s new members. The reconfigured ensemble is poised to continue pushing the boundaries of their genre and the anticipation among their fans for what lies ahead is palpable. This thrilling resurgence is just the beginning for the reinvented Our Hollow, Our Home!

“I’m really proud to present our latest single, “Downpour,” this is the first release with the new line-up it heralds a new chapter and fresh sound for the band.
For me, Lyrically, Downpour is about life’s shifting dynamics. It speaks not only to my own personal experience with the changes in the band, but I believe it can resonate with anybody. Downpour is about overcoming your own fears and anxieties, staying true to yourself, and what is right for you as an individual.

Given everything that has happened, and the amount of change within the band, it was super Important for us to bring something new to the table as soon as we could. As soon as we wrote Downpour, we knew this was the song to return with straight away. Downpour will be released as a stand-alone single, but rest assured, we’ve already been working very hard on our fourth album, which is sounding wild!

Musically I think this is the best the band has ever sounded. Collaborating with the insanely talented Sky Van Hoff(Rammstein/Sleep Token), has been a game-changer. He’s given our sound a modern twist while keeping our original vibe intact which is something we wanted to set out to do from the start.

I’m so excited for people to hear this new chapter of the band. I hope that those who have been with us for any length of time will still get behind us, and I’m looking forward to seeing some new faces along the way.”

The level of relatability, coupled with their relentless touring with the likes of Asking Alexandria and Blessthefall and high profile slots at festivals like GraspopNova RockSummerblast and Jera On Air, has seen the band command an ever growing army of highly dedicated followers; they have over 70,000 on Spotify, have been viewed over 9 million times on Youtube and have over 29,000 Instagram followers and 107,000 on Facebook and 2017’s debut album »Hartsick« reached the top spot of the Itunes chart for rock and metal in the UK, as well as placing in the top ten in the USA, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Italy and Germany.

They were also boosted by their hugely popular cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ in 2017, which was picked up by BBC Radio One’s Greg James and subsequently topped the iTunes UK rock and metal chart, and racked up over 300,000 plays on YouTube on its first week of release.

For a band who have handled their own operations internally without the help of major label or industry backing till today, that is a mightily impressive number, and testament to the devotion Our Hollow, Our Home have to their craft.  But it’s more than just the numbers that are impressive, it’s the way in which those people have connected with the band. Be it their lyrical content, their staunchly DIY approach, their high energy live shows or their down to earth attitude, Our Hollow, Our Home have connected with their audience in a way that cannot be forced or faked.
