Papa Wheelee Returns To The Drunken Parrot in Saint Cloud, Florida 6-12-2020

The Drunken Parrot in Saint Cloud, Florida hosted Orlando’s number one cover band Papa Wheelee Friday June 12, 2020. They were the winners of rock station 98.9 WMMO’s battle of the bands in 2018 and 2019, where they earned the rights to open for Bret Michaels, Lita Ford, and Jack Russel’s Great White. Papa Wheelee is no stranger to the big stage. After a three month hiatus, Papa Wheelee graced the stage at The Drunken Parrot. All Music Magazine sent Mark Horan of MarkHoran.Pictures LLC to cover the scene.

Papa Wheelee is a band that cover a variety of artists like Thin Lizzie, Peter Frampton, Bush, The Cranberries, Foghat, Blondie, Alice Cooper, and Van Halen just to name a few. Their sets are upbeat and the songs are covered flawlessly. Those in attendance always jump to their feet to dance. David Hayes is the rock and roll prototypical front man with great range and tone. Lead guitarist Jack Wallace just rips. James Thatcher on drums keeps the beat and adds extra entertainment with his antics behind his kit. This night, Johnny Bell on the bass guitar had the night off, but Rick Jorgensen filled in with a strong bass line and vocals.

Papa Wheelee is always a pleasure to cover as they are true professionals and their 10 years together shows in their performances. Every member sings giving the band the perfect profile for any song they choose to cover. Even when performing on a small bar stage, Papa Wheelee makes you feel like you’re at a stadium show and they are on a large outdoor mega stage. For a fun night of a live music that you will want to sing along to your favorite songs, Papa Wheelee is a band in Central Florida that you need to look up.
