MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater, located at The Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida, hosted “The Freaks on Parade 2026 Tour” on August 21, 2026. Headlining the tour was Rob Zombie with Marilyn Manson, Orgy, and Mongolian folk metal band The Hu. It was a humid and muggy night without the temperature-dampening showers that the fans and the pavement crave. Again, the show was a sellout with 17,000 souls in attendance in the open-air venue.
The show kicked off with Orgy gracing the stage at 6:15 PM. The band’s lead vocalist Jay Gordon set the tone with his prowess on the stage, leaving no part of the real estate unvisited. He moved back and forth, addressing the crowd in the middle and both sides of the platform. They played a short eight-song set as the people found their seats and refreshments. This “Death Pop” band is from Los Angeles, California. Not sure if “Death Pop” properly categorizes the band, as the performance was anything but dark.

The most interesting performers on the bill were Mongolian folk metal band Th Hu, by far. Clad in anicient Mongolia wear and sporting Mongolian instruments, the Morin khuur, or horsehead fiddle, and the Tovshuur, a wooden body often covered in animal skin, historically accompany folk epic storytelling. The practice of throat singing involves making multiple pitches at the same time, creating a low baseline drone and high whistling or harmonic melodies. With eight musicians on stage, it’s hard to focus on any one artist. It was organized chaos, and at times it appeared there were more than eight musicians.
Their set hit many emotions and was refreshing, exciting, and awe-inspiring. This is not your run-of-the-mill metal band; it was wonderfully different.

The moment that many were waiting for, with the stage cloaked in a black curtain, at approximately 8:10 PM and just after sunset, the curtain fell, and the infamous Marilyn Manson was on the stage. Dressed in black leather, black knee-high boots, black leather fingerless gloves, and a black leather trench coat. His face was painted white, with red lipstick and his signature zombie eye contact lens, looking very vampiresque in appearance. With a reputation that precedes him, the “The Freaks on Parade 2026 Tour” had started.
Manson’s set rocked, and he was on his best behavior as he performed and addressed the crowd between songs. No spitting on the crowd or photographers, or throwing things into the audience. All of those “gimmicks” were not needed, as the show stood on its own and the audience responded to all the hits from “Exit Wound,” “Sweet Dreams,” and finishing the set with “Beautiful People.”
Nothing scary here, folks!

The “The Freaks on Parade 2026 Tour” was in full swing at around 10:00 PM when, again, the stage was concealed until the curtain dropped. There was a 10-foot to 15-foot platform rising from the stage. At the top of the platform, Rob Zombie was screaming and waving his hands about, and it was evident that this was the headliner of the tour. The platform was flanked by two inflatable 15-foot red devils with shining eyes, and the stage was washed in red light. Hell had arrived! Or the theatrical hell that is. The energy was over the top and continued the entire set.
The singer, songwriter, horror film actor, and producer projects himself in the starring role on stage as he performs his songs with lyrics of horror and sci-fi themes. The theatrics are over the top, and at 61 years old, Rob Zombie is alive and well.
