The Blinders strolled on to the stage of the iconic Electric Ballroom in Camden, London with an extra member from last time I saw them and with a confidence of a band who have built their reputation playing live, and they were off! They kick off with the brilliant “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and it’s perfect, Tom Haywards intense stare almost intimidates everyone in the packed-out venue as he throws his lyrical sermon at them like a preacher in his church pulpit.
“40 days and 40 Nights”, “Lunatic” and “Brave New World” follow, and the places is heating up, there’s sweat dripping off the band and there’s sweat dripping off the crowd, I can’t be too sure, but I think the walls might have been sweating too!
“Where No Man”, “The Writer”, “I Can’t Breathe Blues”, “From Nothing to Abundance” are all given a showing and the crowd just eat it up, this is how live music should be.
This night, The Blinders produced a set of politically provocative punchy, enigmatic, electrifying, alternative indie rock, this band have never failed to disappoint, and tonight was no exception, great band, great songs, amazing live, brilliant stuff
