Some shows just feel like a big hangout with a bunch of friends, and The Runarounds’ takeover of Emo’s Austin for their “Minivan Tour” was one of those nights. The band rolled in like they owned the place, and honestly, the crowd made it clear they were more than happy to hand over the keys. The second the lights dropped, you could feel everyone settle in for something special.
Easy Honey kicked things off, and right away, you could tell they were super comfortable on stage. They didn’t need to work the crowd too hard—people just naturally tuned in. Their set had that indie vibe, but with enough surprises to keep things interesting. Songs like “Orbiter” and “Silver Springs Interlude” really stood out, showing they know how to mix catchy tunes with a little bit of depth.
Easy Honey kept things real the whole time—no crazy light shows or gimmicks, just good songs and good vibes. When they played “Everything I See,” you could feel the whole room lean in, everyone paying attention. Pulling that off as an opener is no small feat, but they made it look easy. You could tell they were watching the crowd and knew exactly when to switch things up to keep everyone hooked.
By the end of their set, Easy Honey had everyone in the right mood. Instead of just filling time, they actually made the night better, so when it was time for The Runarounds, everyone was already hyped. Honestly, if they keep playing like this, it won’t be long before they headline their own shows. See them now while you still can.

Then The Runarounds came out, and you could feel the excitement pop off instantly. It wasn’t just another band walking on stage—it was like a bunch of old friends playing together. People were singing every word, phones were up everywhere, and the band clearly loved every second of it. The whole thing felt fun and close, even with a packed venue.
The Runarounds really know how to be on stage. Nothing felt stiff or scripted; it was just a group of guys who clearly enjoy making music together. The set felt more like a gathering than a concert, with the crowd and band vibing off each other. Easy Honey set them up perfectly, and The Runarounds ran with it.
Their setlist was all over the place in the best way—starting with tracks like “Ghosts,” “Cellophane,” and “Sophia” that hit you right in the feels, then moving into big anthems like “Root Beers” and “Crossroads” where everyone lost their minds. At times, it felt like Emo’s couldn’t even contain all the energy bouncing around the room.
About halfway through, songs like “Beautiful Stranger,” “Bleachers,” and “Minivan” proved just how many good tunes The Runarounds have up their sleeve. The band is clearly on a roll, and the fans knew every word. These weren’t just good live songs—they were massive, and the band and the crowd were totally in sync.
A lot of the excitement these days comes from The Runarounds’ Amazon Prime show. It wasn’t just about playing for their fans—it made people feel like they really knew the band aside from watching their Amazon Prime. You could totally feel that connection, where it seemed like everyone was part of the same club.
As the band ripped through “Killed My Youth” and “Funny How the Universe Works” near the end, it was clear The Runarounds are about to blow up in a big way. The sing-alongs were loud, the nostalgia was real, and the whole room felt like it was moving forward with the band. They weren’t chasing a moment—they were making one, and Austin got to be there for it.
They closed things out with “Senior Year,” “Valerie,” and “Downtown,” and by the end, everyone was sweaty, smiling, and totally spent (in the best way). This wasn’t just another stop on a tour—it felt like proof that The Runarounds are still climbing. The Amazon Prime fame hasn’t slowed them down; if anything, it’s just turned up the volume. Austin didn’t just get a show—they got to join the story.

Hi!
I’m Jalys. Music and concert photographer located in Austin, TX. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Photocommunications. Pretty cool, right? An Instagram degree before Instagram was cool!
I enjoy traveling around Texas, and taking photos of bands and musicians. Texas has so many awesome venues, and I want to photograph any that I can. Music has always been a major part of my life, and while a student at Texas Tech, I knew that I wanted to specialize in music photography. I have lived in the Austin area for over twelve years and have been able to photograph so many cool bands. Let’s add yours to the list!
When I’m not photographing, I’m probably working at my day job as a University Recruiter for a manufacturing facility. I travel quite often for work and love visiting college campuses! I enjoy hanging out with my husband, our 3 dogs (Ryder, Carter, and Tucker), our adopted cat, Allie, and our families. Follow me on Instagram! You will get to see all the pet photos you can stomach. My handle is @j.bcaro.
