Thee Rock and Roll Residency plays their last show at the Mercy Lounge, Nashville, Tennessee – 2/26/22

Thee Rock and Roll Residency has been a staple act at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, Tennessee for the past ten years. Since the Mercy Lounge is ending is reign as one of Nashville’s favorite music venues in the coming months, the guys in Thee Rock and Roll Residency had to play one last show and share some great stories and memories for those who were able to be there. Thee Rock and Roll Residency consists of Philip Shouse and Jeremy Asbrock (Ace Frehley’s touring band) along with bassist/vocalist Judd Fuller and drummer Jared Pope. This group is an ever revolving door of guest musicians who would regularly join them on-stage for different and lasting memories for any fan in attendance. This night was no different and they guys had a lot in-store for the crowd that packed the Mercy Lounge! Along with Thee Rock and Roll Residency there were also two very cool and talented opening acts.

As I made my way to the very industrial part of Nashville that the Mercy Lounge is located in, I found myself following a few of the many “party buses” that tour the city on most nights of the week. Nash-Vegas came to mind as I watched these glowing, party lit converted school buses loaded with bachelorette parties weave their way around town. There is always something happening in Nashville and tonight was going to be a fun night for sure. The show started at 8pm with a set by Danilo Lopez which featured a full 8 piece band that barley fit on the rather small stage! Incredibly talented group with a funky sort of Santana feel that set the mood for the evening. That was followed by the Matt Farley Project kicking it up with some blues based rock with great guitar playing and really great vocal harmonies. Both Danilo and Matt would return later in the evening to join Thee Rock and Roll Residency for a song each!

The “Residency” played a killer set of 70’s rock greatest hits with classic Les Paul and Strat sounds by Philip and Jeremy! They hit the stage right at 10pm for a power packed 90 min set. This is the list of guest singers and the corresponding songs…

From a concert photography stand point, this was a show that was really difficult to shoot. The lighting was so low that I had to shoot at 1/125, F4, ISO 20,000! Needless to say I had A LOT of post processing work to do on these! But, I wouldn’t have missed this show for anything! This show was simply FUN! The band had fun, the crowd had fun and that is what it really is all about in the end, right? Rock on!
