WORDS AND IMAGES KIERAN ANDREWS
Tom Grennan was returning to Wales for his second outdoor festival concert in consecutive years. This year’s venue moved from Swansea Singleton Park to Cardiff Castle. His performance at the iconic castle helped solidify his reputation among the greats who have graced the stage.
Kicking off the show was Brooke Combe, an alternative singer from Edinburgh. With her catchy lyrics, she got the crowd swaying and ended her set on a high note after winning the Scottish Breakthrough Artist 2021 award.
Next up was Victor Ray, originally from Uganda, who gained fame by busking on the streets of London. His powerful voice captivated the audience, and he shared stories of his street performances, earning him a strong following and setting him up for a promising future.
As the sun set, the stage was set for Tom Grennan’s performance against the backdrop of a lit Cardiff Castle. With his band’s electrifying energy and unmatched stage presence, Tom delivered hit after hit, captivating the entire castle grounds with his outstanding vocals and authentic performance.
During his set, Tom invited one of his backing singers, Petra, to perform a duet, showcasing her sweet harmonies. In a heartwarming moment, he invited a 9-year-old boy named Harvey to join him on stage, giving the young fan an unforgettable experience.
