Melbourne based singer Vanessa is one of the strongest contestants on Tik Tok’s exclusive show UNDSCVRD presented by Samsung. On the back of her incredible performances on the TikTok platform, Vanessa’s debut “Hands” was produced by Brisbane’s finest platinum producer James Angus and co-wrote by multi platinum songwriter Brooke Toia. ‘Hands’ is a pensive mix of bass and jungle-inspired beats, accompanied by raw vocals and haunting harmonies. Her music is an exploration of loss and emptiness, combining her interests in expression through her voice and electronic music production.
Vanessa’s journey as a musician started when she was just four years old and although she didn’t take it seriously until high school, music had always been a significant part of her life. In making her own music, she found a way to express her feelings in a world that she can create herself. Her passion for music is evident in her rounded sound, and the world needs to discover the talent she expressed on season 2.
“I have always been around music; I started singing when I was 4. Believe it or not, I wanted to be an opera singer for the longest time. Writing this amazing music though is something I am proud of and I hope it shows that no matter my exterior I am actually a vulnerable person and I hope that I can connect with people.” – Vanessa
For Vanessa, the Tik Tok show means the opportunity to gain representation and showcase her music not just in Australia but also internationally. She dreams of playing a tour as a support act and doing her first solo show.
