What started as the Havana Room in the late 90’s, a lounge where Central Cigar patrons could enjoy cigars from Saint Petetersburg’s largest selection of premium cigars eventually evolved into Ruby’s Elixir amidst growing demand for live music in more recent years. Since it’s inception, Ruby’s Elixir has drawn music enthusiasts from the Tampa Bay area to see their favorite artists perform in an casual upscale lounge.
Since Opening in 2011, there have been renovations which include construction of a new stage to accommodate larger bands as well as an increase in seating capacity. A growing customer base on the heels of a budding downtown music scene has also allowed Ruby’s, as it’s affectionately known as among local musicians, customers, and friends alike, has also allowed for the expansion of spirit selection and craft beers, as diverse as the Saint Pete music scene.
With a throwback lounge feel, Ruby’s strives to be the kind music lounge you might find in large cities in the 40’s and 50’s. Classic drinks, like the Old Fashioned, served in a casual chic environment allows patrons to sit back relax, enjoy a cigar or a cocktail while watching some of the Bay Area’s best talent.
Ruby’s Elixir’s success is indicative of a vibrant and growing arts culture in Downtown Saint Petersburg.
