BRIGHTON’S MOST TALKED ABOUT NEW BAND SHARE STORMING NEW SINGLE ‘A DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO EASY LIVING’
ANOTHER IRRESISTABLE SEASIDE SMASHER AHEAD OF HUGE SXSW APPEARANCE NEXT MONTH
Youth Sector have shared new single ‘A Definitive Guide To East Living’,
Hailing from Brighton, the coastal five piece have fast become one of the South’s most talked about outfits in the wake of their 2022 EP Adult Contemporary and a string of tours with the likes of Goat Girl, Darwin Deez, Cheap Teeth, Our Girl, Courting and Walt Disco. The band have also seen extensive support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, DIY, Dork, The Line of Best Fit and more.
Youth Sector’s music is a coiled spring of urgency and unpredictable energy; while lyrically offering a sense of catharsis for the confusion of modern adult life.
After returning with ‘The Ball’ at the tail end of 2022, today sees them mark a plot for the year with the unashamedly massive new single ‘A Definitive Guide To East Living’, released today via Dance to the Radio Records.
The disco-punk infused track is a satirical yet grim exploration into the hidden world of anti-homeless architecture expertly juxtaposed by the track’s infectiously upbeat disco beat and the band’s knack of crafting gargantuan choruses.
Speaking about the single, Youth Sector said: “The song is about anti-homeless architecture – once you start spotting it you can’t stop: tiny narrow bus stop benches, spikes or stones on the ground under bridges or shelters and public benches with random obstacles or arm rests right in the middle. The song explores this abhorrent practice which is more common than you’d like to think.”
Fresh after their recent headline tour, Youth Sector are set to head out to Austin, Texas next month for a string of performances at SXSW. The full list of shows so far can be found below.
