It’s that time again, when our man on the ground Desh Kapur Editor/Photographer All Music Magazine UK/Europe spotlights a bands or artists he thinks are going to have a big 2022 ; bands and artists we think you should check out to stay ahead of the curve

So let me introduce you to Brooke Law. Brooke’s music is delivered in her distinctive gutsy voice. ‘Millionaires’ was Single of the Week on CountryLine TV. Radio play includes Absolute Country Radio, Chris Country Radio, BBC Radio London, BBC Scotland, BBC Essex, BBC Cumbria, BBC Norfolk, BBC Cambs, BBC Suffolk, Maritime Radio and HotnGold Radio. Brooke is driven, gritty and above all empowering. a country artist who is on the verge of very big things,

‘Boomerang’ is her new single. Taken from her forthcoming debut album scheduled for a summer release. The release of Brooke’s singles ‘‘Talk To Me’, ‘Millionaires’ and ‘Best Regret’ have attracted glowing praise from different quarters for this uniquely talented Singer/Songwriter. Think Alanis Morissette meets Janis Joplin! Her fan base continues to grow by the day.

So we decided it was time to have a little chat with Brooke Law,  to see where she came from, what she has been up to and what her plans for the future are.

1 What is the story behind your name?

I thought Brooke Lawrence was too long so I cut the end off and thought I could pretend to be related to Jude Law.

2 What first got you into music? or Who inspired you to make music?

I loved performing ever since I was little

3 How did you all meet?

We all went to the same college and I was playing a college gig with a guitarist then his friend (Alex the drummer) asked if he could play with us and we became a band.

4 How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Passionate, Gutsy, Honest and I hope relatable

5 What is your creative process like?

I like to have an idea in my head usually a personal experience or feeling about something going on in my life and I’ll start writing some lyrics with a melody then I’ll add the chords.

6 If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?

Ahhh so hard, Taylor Swift? Sooo many artists I wish I could open for.

7 What is one message you would give to your fans?

Be yourself, no one is you.

8 What is the most useless talent you have?

Really good at remembering other people’s plans rather than my own. lol

9 Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

I love the reverb you get in the bathroom, I always sing low bluesy songs that make my voice sound all husky, often Norah Jones

10 What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

I’d still be writing, career or no career haha

11 Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?

I recently played the Green Note, its got a really intimate and warming vibe and the audience really listen and support the live music.

12 What is your favourite song to perform?

At the moment my new single Boomerang, it’s so cool hearing people sing along.

13 Which famous musicians do you admire?

I really love Pink and how she stands up for her beliefs, and challenges society in her lyrics.

14 What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?

Getting detention for talking to much in Assembly

15 What is the best advice you’ve been given?

I used to get so nervous, drinking so much water, steaming every hour, no talking, no cheese blablabla then someone told me to ‘let go’ and said ‘if you can sing you can sing’. Now I don’t worry at all, I continuously talk in my day job and drink all the coffee I want hehe.

16 What’s next for you?

We have lots of festivals coming up, and I’ve got more songs coming soooon.
