Scottish indie band Shambolics release their new EP and the single “Never Going To Change”  which is their first release with Scruff Of The Neck Records.

Produced by Chris Marshall at 7 West studios in Glasgow.

Having followed Shambolics since hearing them at a gig back in Phase One Liverpool back in 2019. I always get excited to what their new releases will bring. They have been able to switch from a 1960s feel from previous tracks such as “Psychedelic Sally”
to an heavily energetic guitar injected rock track. They’re versatility and hard working nature, together with their passion to succeed anything they put their mind to is evident to anyone that follows them.

“U serious boi” is another shot of versatility from the Scottish band with the opening track “Like A Breeze”. The catchy singalong melody of the chorus instantly catches the audience and an instant feel good pick up from the lyrics.

“Living In Shadows” takes a different path with its gentle guitar ballad showing the
bands ability to change with ease.

“Never Gonna Change” may be one that the listeners can relate too , people have been willing to change their surroundings blaming it on there choices and outcomes, without looking at their own mindset that might need to change first. This track was a
standout from the EP. Darren Forbes (vocals/guitarist) speaks of it being the first track written with Lewis
Mcdonalsld (vocals/guitarist)

“”Never Gonna Change” is one of the first tunes me and Lewis wrote together. The song is about someone who is always
complaining about their small town surroundings so pushes to change this. They move to the city to start a new life but it turns out he’s still the exact same guy and it’s his mentality that’s holding him back. We’ve met a few of them along the way. I can already vision fans singing back to the band ‘never going to change, never going to change’ when they play it live! The
guitars and drums are an instant crowd catcher! This will most definitely put a smile on the bands faces if this was to happen,

Speaking of live performances Darren Forbes says

“We love experimenting and being creative in the studio,” Darren adds. “But that’s only half the story for us. Our shows are a collective experience, so if a song gets people going mad at a gig then we’ve got a winner.”

The next track “Take It Or Leave It” oozes 80s pop whilst the band are able to merge into a psychedelic dreamy indie sound with “What’s Going On In Your Head” then catapulting you forward with “Sharp As A Razor” which was performed live at SWG3 Glasgow. This is a must listen to anyone that loves the 90s indie music scene. The Fast paced drums and heavy guitar riffs throw the audience into a spin. Allowing people the chance to taster Shambolics live if they haven’t already experienced yet.

The effortless way Shambolics take you by the hand and lead you on this journey of a mixture of pop, indie, rock music with pure
confidence is so joyous to witness. Be sure to be a part of a collective performance and catch them live at the remainder of their UK dates
