After forming in 1979 as teenagers, new-wave icons Altered Images quickly had worldwide success, selling millions of records, which topped the charts in several countries. They recorded 3 Top 10 Albums and had 6 UK Top 40 hits including ‘Don’t Talk To Me About Love’, ‘I Could Be Happy’ and ‘Happy Birthday’. They were voted BEST NEW GROUP at the NME awards the same year that they were invited to play at The Royal Command Performance. Clare and the band worked closely with Scottish painter David Band creating original pieces of artwork that were released as special edition prints alongside the singles.
Decades later, the group continues to create an impact in the UK music scene.
Lead singer Clare Grogan has gone on to have a vast career in TV, Radio and writing. However, her undying love for music remains, recently receiving a Special Recognition Award at the Scottish Music Awards, playing to a sell-out crowd in LA at the Microsoft Arena, and making her long-awaited debut at The Royal Albert Hall where she joined Texas on stage.
Now, the group will take to the stage once more with a string of headliner dates, including a stop at Manchester Academy on the 2nd March. Accompanied by special guests SCARLET, Altered Images will bring the very best of their old classics, as well as brand new material from their recently announced new studio album, Mascara Streakz, which will be released later this year. Altered Images have always made waves in the industry- even over 30 years on, they continue to bring us joy with their untouchable, addictive sound.

My life is a soundtrack, i track my life through music, photography is my passion, my escape, my expression. Without both i have pieces missing, thankfully i’m blessed and get to combine both.
Born in Manchester, lived in Australia for 22 years where i was heavily involved in the Australian Music Industry, firstly in bands (Singer) and then managing bands (all original), I moved back to the UK, Wales specifically 10 years ago and married my childhood sweetheart and life is good.
