WORDS AND IMAGES DESH KAPUR
The Chats brought their high-octane punk energy to Liverpool’s Invisible Wind Factory on November 10, 2024, and the night was nothing short of a wild ride of Aussie 4 on the floor punk rock
But before that we had Supporting acts Rifle and The Prize. Rifle kicked off the night with relentless old skool punk remonding of bands like Crass or The Exploited setting the tone for the rest of the night. Their gritty, fast-paced sound was a perfect match for the headliners, and their energy never wavered, keeping the crowd hyped throughout their set. But to. be honest it wasn’t really for me
The Prize, hailing from Melbourne, brought a slightly different flavor to the evening, blending classic rock influences with punk aggression. Their set was a highlight, offering a mix of catchy riffs and powerhouse vocals. Though less raw than The Chats, The Prize delivered a performance full of energy and excitement, proving why they’re one of the most talked-about up-and-coming bands in the scene.
Known for their raw, no-frills punk rock, the Australian trio The Chats has built a reputation for fast, raucous gigs, and this show lived up to expectations. With their set heavily featuring tracks from their latest album GET FUCKED, The Chats had the crowd moshing from the moment they hit the stage. Fan-favorites like “Smoko” and “Pub Feed” had everyone shouting along, while newer tracks showcased the band’s continued evolution, albeit with the same frenetic intensity that defines their sound.
I have to say that i thought The Chats were brilliant, pure Aussie charm wrapped up in 2 and 1/2 minute bogan punk rock songs, great stuff!. All In all, it was a night of pure punk adrenaline, with The Chats showing why they’re one of the most beloved punk bands around at the moment.
