The Australian Pink Floyd Show celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Pink Floyd classic album Wish You Were Here in San Diego, California on August 17, 2025. The show was held at the outdoor venue Cal Coast Credit Union Amphitheater on the campus of San Diego State University.
The show began with the performance of the seminal album from front to back. Each band member took the stage one by one (or three by three) as their part was layered into the sound. There is not one bad note on Wish You Were Here and each one was played with passion and reverence. The opening set then moved through selections from sides 1 and 2 of The Wall. The full Floyd live show was represented with videos on the round screen, lasers and dancing inflatables. There was an extended intermission, allowing the crowd to stretch their legs, use the facilities and restock on beverages.

The second act featured deep cuts and greatest hits across the full Pink Floyd catalog. Each of the 10 members of The Australian Pink Floyd Show had a chance to shine on during this extended set. This is a truly talented group of musicians who faithfully recreated the legendary songs that so many have come to love. As far as cover bands go, this is as close as you can get to the original concert experience without any of the original band members performing. Acts like this allow new generations to get a taste of what the long-time fans once had, while the OG’s have the opportunity to immerse themselves in something that is a part of their soul.
