NEW EP ‘HUMAN TOUCH IS FOREVER’ – OUT 27TH APRIL
FIRST HEADLINE LONDON SHOW HAPPENING @ SEBRIGHT ARMS 4TH MAY
Big Image have shared a live session video for their kaleidoscopic indie dance juggernaut track ‘Something’ filmed at Aston Villa‘s ground Villa Park
The unique opportunity for the four-piece to create a live video inside the football stadium comes as Big Image have been selected as part of Aston Villa’s Villa Introducing series, showcasing the broad variety of exciting new talent the midlands has to offer. Directed by Henry Bettany, the opportunity has tied two passions for music and football together in a very special way.
Speaking about the session vocalist George Johnson says, “Absolutely loved shooting this at Villa Park. To hear our tunes echoing around a stadium is something I’ll never forget! It made us realise it’s what they’re made for.”
Bassist Luke Morris adds, “Getting the chance to play at my club’s stadium was amazing. Being a supporter my whole life and having the opportunity to just sit in the stands looking out to an empty stadium was a great experience and it will be a memory I’ll cherish forever.”
The soundtrack to making up for the many lost nights out during the past two years, ‘Something’ is another euphoric number from the Birmingham-based quartet that aches to be reverberated around sticky-floored venues with a mate on either arm singing along, or in this case a chant-worthy chorus to be hollered from the terraces.
‘Something’ is also taken from their new EP ‘Human Touch Is Forever’ due for release on 27th April 2022. Featuring previous singles ‘Parallel Love Affair’ and the Radio X Xposure playlisted ‘Crazier’, as well as another new track (‘Sleeping Alone’), it’s a big milestone in the band’s career to date. Previously working under the name Ivory Wave, this will be the quartet’s first body of work as Big Image. The four-piece will be showcasing the new EP at their headline London show on Wednesday 4th May at Sebright Arms – tickets here.
The announcement follows a very successful 2021 for Big Image. Last year they played the This Feeling stage at Isle of Wight Festival and shortly after, a raucous, intimate hometown show at iconic venue The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham to celebrate their debut single’s release. They also appeared on Scruff Of The Neck TV featuring a live session and interview with Radio X’s Jack Wood, and were chosen to appear in Scott’s Menswear‘s nationwide Autumn/Winter campaign alongside Sam Fender and Bru-C. Now with the countdown on to their debut EP, and a colossal show at The Forum in Birmingham following shortly after, which is sure to be one for the history books, Big Image keep getting bigger, and bigger.
