Indie quartet BLOXX have shared another teaser from their new EP with glittering single ‘Weight In Gold’
A deeply personal track that explores themes of self-worth in your darkest of times, vocalist Fee explains in more detail, “This was written about not knowing my own worth as an individual and hating myself, and based on a few things my dad said to me at my worst during heartbreak.”
It follows on from previous singles ‘Runaway’ – a euphoric indie gem that glistens with the upbeat and effervescent sonic footprints we’ve come to know and love from the London-based four-piece, ‘Happy Anniversary (To Being Lonely)’ – a typically upbeat track brimming with effervescent melodies, the fizzing instrumental is a buoyant guise for the more melancholic lyrical content which sits at the heart of the song – and comeback track ‘Television Promises’.
The band’s new EP ‘Modern Day’ is due for release on 11th August via Scruff Of The Neck Records and marks another jubilant stride in their career. The London-based four-piece previously dropped an electrifying debut album ‘Lie Out Loud‘ in 2020 and follow up EP ‘Pop Culture Radio‘ in 2021. The last few years have seen the Uxbridge outfit stake their claim as one of the UK’s leading indie pop outfits, crafting a definitive brand of confessional, relatable anthems that don’t shy away from personal issues – whether that’s LGBTQ+ representation in the scene, relationship breakdowns, or mental health.
‘Weight In Gold’ is available to stream now. ‘Modern Day’ is released on 11th August via Scruff Of The Neck Records.
