BRIGHTON’S MOST BUZZY OUTFIT SHARE NEW SINGLE ‘THE BALL’
DEVO MEET TALKING HEADS IN THIS IRRESISTABLE SEASIDE SMASHER
Youth Sector have returned with gargantuan new single ‘The Ball’,
Hailing from Brighton, the coastal five piece have fast become one of the city’s most talked about outfits in the wake of their 2022 EP Adult Contemporary and a string of tours with the likes of Goat Girl, Darwin Deez, Cheap Teeth, Our Girl, Courting and Walt Disco. The band have also seen extensive support from BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, DIY, Dork, The Line of Best Fit and more.
Youth Sector’s music is a coiled spring of urgency and unpredictable energy; while lyrically offering a sense of catharsis for the confusion of modern adult life.
Now, after a huge summer of festival performances they have returned with new single ‘The Ball’, released via Dance to the Radio Records. Written as a justifiably despairing response to the “Partygate” scandal, the track outlays the quintet’s distain for the current political landscape in the UK, taking aim at the government and their very public failings.
An iressistable and unashamedly massive cut, ‘The Ball’ effortless encapsulates Youth Sector’s ascent so far, showcasing the influence of the art school greats (DEVO, Talking Heads) while also bringing their own uniquely fascinating twists into play. An instant earworm, this is the sound of a band with something to prove.
Youth Sector are currently in the midst of a UK headline tour, including a date at London’s 100 Club. Final tickets are on sale now, and the remaining dates can be found below.
