CULT BRISTOL POST PUNK OUTFIT RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE ‘IN THE COSMIC HOUR’
DEBUT EP TRASH JUGULAR OUT 15 NOVEMBER
Apocalyptic Bristol post-punk outfit Erotic Secrets of Pompeii have returned with new single ‘In The Cosmic Hour’,
Making waves throughout the south west with their immersive, dystopian live shows, ESOP have amassed a cult fanbase over the last two years, laying the foundation for a highly anticipated debut EP Trash Jugular, out 15 November 2022.
Earlier the summer the band offered the first taste of this release with ‘Nemesis Please’, and today sees them take fans further down the rabbit hole with ‘In The Cosmic Hour’.
‘In The Cosmic Hour’ effortlessly showcases ESOP’s abilities to straddle a multitude of genres, bringing together post-punk and art rock to create something dark, mischevious, immersive and gritty – an encapsulation of the band’s dangerous and unique sound.
Speaking about ‘In The Cosmic Hour, frontman Thomas Hawtin said: “A roaring smokestack of a song, ‘In the Cosmic Hour’ is a macabre requiem for those strange moments of self-reflection amidst the chaos of the world where we don’t quite feel ourselves, where we question who is in charge of the decisions we make and the feelings we have.”.
Set for release this autumn, Trash Jugular introduces ESOP’s twisted amalgamation of angular art rock and transgressive post-punk, transmitted direct from the heart of the forbidden zone. Revelation after revelation pours forth from our unreliable narrator – singer Thomas Hawtin – swapping pleasantries for pitchforks, while the band fire on all cylinders, releasing an idiosyncratic, electroconvulsive torrent of noise as hooky as it is offbeat. Prepare for a surreal internal struggle to comprehend the self – furnished with red hot occult imagery and extraordinary visions before bedtime.
Trash Jugular will be released 15 November 2022
