Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal is a guitar virtuoso who has been a member of such iconic bands as Guns N’ Roses and Asia, and of course the supergroup Sons Of Apollo as well as Art Of Anarchy, Whom Gods Destroy, and more. He is also a writer, arranger, and producer creating music for his own solo career and shaping the career of many young artists. Ron has a new single called “Simon In Space” from his latest instrumental solo album Bumblefoot… Returns! The album features some iconic guests like Guthrie Govan, Steve Vai, and Queen’s Brian May.
In this interview, we get a first look at the vinyl edition of the new record, and we also get a look at the new videogame that will be available with the release of the album!!! Ron also talks about the specs of his gorgeous double-neck guitar, a new hot sauce he will be adding to his line of sauces, a new comic book that’s in the works, downloadable signature guitar sounds, and a transcription book that will be available shortly! He also discusses some events he’ll be a part of and the stories behind some of the great songs on the new record.

Hello everyone! My name is Scott Itter, but some know me as Dr. Music. I am a music journalist and photographer out of the Chicagoland area, and I have been in practice for over 20 years. I grew up in the 70’s with two big brothers that showed me all kinds of rock and roll. As I grew older I ventured out into different genres like jazz, funk, folk, and whatever else I could wrap my ears around. As I read every liner note and every Circus and Hit Parader like they were the Old and New Testament, I came to realize that I just love sound and appreciate all the people that create it.
I later became a stay-at-home dad and started honing my writing and photography skills to keep my mind from turning into mashed peas. My kids are now adults, my mind is only slightly mushy, and I am thrilled to have the honor of presenting my work to you!
