CALVIN HARRIS, JESS GLYNNE & CAT BURNS
KICK-START BRITISH GRAND PRIX WITH HISTORIC SILVERSTONE LAUNCH PARTY
THE BREATH-TAKING SHOW USHERS IN A NEW ERA OF MUSIC AT THE HOME OF BRITISH MOTORSPORT
Silverstone kick-started this year’s Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix by bringing the best of British music and motorsport together for an unprecedented evening of live music.
Billed as the start of a new era of music at the iconic venue, Cat Burns got the historic show started with hits such as “Go” and “Live More & Love More”.
Jess Glynne provided effortless entertainment as the sun set, with her wall to wall classics that the crowd couldn’t get enough of. The “Rather Be” singer even offered a sneak peak at an unreleased track.
One of the biggest artists, DJs and producers in the world, Calvin Harris then cracked things up a notch. Whether it was the long time favourite “I’m Not Alone” or the recent #1 smash “Miracle”, Harris curated an exceptional set for both new and old fans to enjoy before an epic firework display officially declared the 2023 Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix open.
45,000 fans attended the first-ever Launch Party at Silverstone’s newly-expanded music arena, with staging produced by industry pioneers Library Productions, who manage the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.
Celebrating the best of British music and motorsport, the Launch Party was curated by Grammy nominated and Ivor Novello Award winning British songwriter and producer Jamie Scott, who was appointed Director of Music at Silverstone last year.
Jamie Scott said: “What a way to officially kick-off the weekend here at Silverstone.
“Three incredible British acts who blew the roof off the stage. We knew what we wanted to do this year in terms of enhancing the feel-good festival atmosphere here, but last night took it to another level.
“I can’t wait to do it all again over the weekend with Tom Grennan, Jax Jones and Black Eyed Peas still to play. Then we go again bigger and better next year, as we continue to grow Silverstone as a summer highlight on both the British sport and music calendar!”
The new-look music offering at this year’s Formula 1 Aramco British Grand Prix sees Silverstone deliver four gigantic evenings of live music and entertainment at no extra cost to existing ticket holders. Festival powerhouses Jax Jones (Friday), Black Eyed Peas (Saturday) and Tom Grennan (Sunday) are set to play throughout the weekend.
