DEA MATRONA RELEASE NEW SINGLE 'GET MY MIND OFF'

CURRENTLY SUPPORTING KRIS BARRAS BAND ON TOUR ACROSS THE UK AND SOON TO BE SUPPORTING CHRIS SHIFLETT (FOO FIGHTERS)

Irish rock duo Dea Matrona release their latest single ‘Get My Mind Off’.  Following on from their previous single ‘Red Button’, latest offering ‘Get My Mind Off’ brings Dea Matrona’s trademark, infectious melodies to the forefront. The track, which details the frustration of being stuck on someone, is brought alive by rousing guitars. The band say about the track: “‘Get My Mind Off’ is a track that has quite an R&B vibe to it. It’s about trying to forget about someone and wanting to stop thinking about them which proves to be hard. We wrote it after a quick jam session and we couldn’t wait to get it into our live set”

Dea Matrona comprises two school friends, Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe, who grew up busking to their favourite rock ‘n’ roll anthems on the streets of Belfast. Covering the likes of Led Zeppelin’s ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Homeward Bound’, they have reached an online community of 250,000 followers and racked up over 8 million views on YouTube. With their hard hitting riffs and musical intensity they have established a rare, sensational sound – gritty and real but loaded with melody and style, which has so far garnered support from Clash, The New Cue, The Independent, MusicRadar and more. Strong radio support has come from Gemma Bradley at BBC Introducing ATL plus a Spotify editorial playlist cover on ‘Top of the Rock’.

2022 saw successful shows across UK + Europe including supporting Eagles of Death Metal on their European tour followed by The Academic and Feeder, plus a multitude of Summer festivals, including Electric Picnic, Rock Werchter, Rock In The City and Retro C Trop, ending with a triumphant show at Trans Musicales Festival, France.

2023 has started with a bang, playing at Eurosonic Festival and a performance at the European Live Festival Awards. The band will also be heading out to Texas to play SXSW Festival in March.
