GALOP UK BENEFIT SHOWS
MANCHESTER DEAF INSTITUTE // THURSDAY 01 JUNE
LONDON COLOURS // TUESDAY 06 JUNE
Following her successful debut UK tour last autumn, a remarkable live appearance on the French Late Show with Alain Chabat on national French TV and having already confirmed UK festival appearances this year at Bearded Theory, Shindig, 2000 Trees and Tramlines, DELILAH BON continues her spiralling trajectory into 2023.
To add to those festival announcements, Delilah will headline Queer Pride Party shows at Manchester Deaf Institute on Thursday 1 June and London Colours on Tuesday 6 June. Both nights will feature a set from DJ Goldenaxe blasting LGBTQ+ and girl power bangers, and a live performance from @itsruena (aka Delilah’s baddie bass player) which will be her debut shows.
All ticket profits from both shows will be donated to Galop UK, a charity that helps LGBTQ+ people who have suffered any type of abuse and violence, helping them seek support and guidance. Tickets here:
“Let’s sell these shows out and celebrate pride, celebrate queerness, celebrate love and celebrate unity,” says Delilah. “Dress code is queer, pride, gay, glam, slutty and fabulous. It’s gonna be iconic.”
DELILAH BON is the alter-ego of Lauren Tate. Built on the foundations of female empowerment, her music fuses hip-hop, punk and nu-metal with ferocious, screamed raps over razor-wire guitar riffs. It’s an exhilarating, unifying and joyous live experience, but still you can almost taste the hurt, the betrayal, the anger.
“Delilah Bon has plenty to say and she’s not just making music with an agenda, she’s started a movement. She’s mobilising young women to stand up for themselves, she’s helping to arm a new generation with a voice that can be heard. And it’s all done with a sense of fun and in a place where anyone can feel safe. This event, and it is an event, is much more than a gig, it offers hope of a better future …” DEVOLUTION
“Then they play Dead Men Don’t Rape, a warning and a manifesto in one four-minute burst of pure undiluted anger. I run the risk of embarrassing myself if I attempt to articulate my feelings here so, it’s the best song tonight and of the best singles I have heard for years. Playlisting it might be problematic in these in-between days but this will be someone’s Oh Bondage Up Yours, somebody else’s Teenage Kicks, somebody’s cry in the dark that saves them …” LOUDER THAN WAR
“Delilah Bon is fearless, compassionate and, on the evidence to date, a fine human being and the set was among the best shows I have ever seen. In years to come, many years from now, if Delilah Bon is not remembered as the voice of a generation I will return and haunt every one of the haters that tried to stop her …” WITH JUST A HINT OF MAYHEM
“We could have dedicated part of this review to all the topics and facets of feminism Delilah tackles on her record but, honestly, what’s the point? We’ll never do it as powerfully as she does, so instead, here’s an instruction: PUT THE ALBUM ON! And know it was made by a boss babe who literally made everything you can see and hear, and know that you’re just as much of a boss babe as she is …” BITTERSWEET PRESS
