HOTLY TIPPED EAST LONDON ARTIST/PRODUCER UNVEILS NEW SINGLE ‘CARDIGANS’
East London alt-pop sensation Good Scott has unveiled new single ‘Cardigans’.
Good Scott is the project of Scott Verrill, with the acclaimed artist/producer using this moniker to explore exciting new angles within his remarkable musical talents. Previously a writer and producer for huge talent, this project is all about stepping out of the shadows and bringing himself to the fore.
Unafraid to push the boundaries of alternative-pop, Verrill brings a commendably wide range of influences into play to craft something entirely unique yet peppered with elements of warm familiarity, like catching up with an old friend.
This year has seen Good Scott release two huge singles – a bubbly statement of intent in ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, and a bonafide summer smasher with ‘Yes Man’.
Now, Good Scott is showing a different side to his sound with new single ‘Cardigans’. Bringing a more emotive musical pallate into play, the single effortlessly showcases exactly why he is one of the capital’s most innovative producers at the moment.
Speaking about ‘Cardigans’, Good Scott said: “‘Cardigans’ fills the more romantic spot on the coming mixtape, being about wanting to take things further with someone. It’s kind of the ‘boyfriend hoodie’ vibe but I’m more of a cardigan guy so switch the hoodie out for a cardigans.
I like the idea of borrowing or sharing clothes being a big step and feeling like a token of commitment. I wrote it with my friend Ed, who is so good at putting lyrics into a simple clear message, and that’s one thing I love about this track, the lyrics just say it super literally without too many frills around it. Musically I tried to make it as wonky as I could without it feeling too far from the previous releases.”
‘Cardigans’ is the latest single to be taken from a forthcoming wider project from Good Scott, more information will be revealed in due course.
