NEW SONG “HOLY HELL” & VIDEO OUT NOW
Stones Throw is delighted to welcome Eddie Chacon to the roster. To celebrate the signing, Eddie Chacon’s new song “Holy Hell”, produced by John Carroll Kirby, is out now.
In the “Holy Hell” video by Sissy Chacon, Eddie drives around Los Angeles in a salvation-themed car. The video is inspired by eccentric men of visions who are inspired to spread the gospel and share messages of love and repentance. Eddie says: In “Holy Hell” I’m talking about how we forget that our happiness is determined by our headspace and how it’s up to us whether we want to live our brief time here on Earth in heaven or hell.
In 2020 Eddie Chacon, a “low-key R&B legend” (The FADER) released the album Pleasure, Joy and Happiness, written with and produced by Stones Throw’s John Carroll Kirby. The album was a word-of-mouth hit and acclaimed by the Guardian, New York Times, The Fader and many more. Pleasure, Joy and Happiness arrived after a long hiatus from music following Eddie’s success in the duo Charles and Eddie, whose 1992 song “Would I Lie To You” was a global #1 hit.
Eddie says: After so many years without an outlet for my music I’m so grateful to be back doing what I have loved the most of all throughout my life. The success of “Pleasure, Joy and Happiness” was such a surprise because it was a record about closure for me. I expected it to be a final goodbye to music as a way of letting go and moving on. Being invited to join the Stones Throw family is an opportunity I never thought I’d have in my life.
Look out for more music from Eddie Chacon soon, and catch him on tour in the UK and Europe this summer, including a performance at We Out Here festival.
