Fat Dog are a South East London band formed during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, consisting of Joe Love, Chris Hughes, Morgan Wallace, Jacqui Wheeler, and Johnny “Doghead” Hutch. Before releasing any singles, the group made waves with their raucous, high-energy live performances, earning a reputation as one of the most thrilling acts of 2023. Gary Ryan of NME described them as “2023’s wildest live band.”

In 2023, Fat Dog signed with the prestigious Domino Recording Company and continued to solidify their place in the music scene by opening for bands like Viagra Boys and Yard Act. They also headlined their own debut tour, which included a sold-out show at Scala. That same year, they were highlighted as part of DIY Magazine‘s “Class of 2024,” performing at the magazine’s launch show.

Their first single, “King of the Slugs,” was released in August 2023. The track, a unique seven-minute fusion of punk and techno, gained significant attention and was ranked number 33 on NME’s list of the 50 best songs of 2023. In January 2024, they followed up with their second single, “All The Same.”

Fat Dog’s debut album, WOOF., was released on September 6, 2024, marking a major milestone in their career.
