Glass Caves have revealed their new track ‘Wake Up’.

Issuing the message to “wake up and take control” Glass Caves combine fluid, upbeat pop-leaning guitars with the slightly more downbeat theme of realising life isn’t always what you think it’s going to be. However when you believe that your own destiny is in your hands, you can change things, which is demonstrated here with a euphoric crescendo.

Explaining the track further, lead singer Matt Hallas says, “‘Wake Up’ covers the feelings and emotions that are involved in a sudden realisation that life doesn’t always go according to plan and you’re stuck in a place that you no longer want to be, whether that be physically, emotionally or developmentally. You are faced with two options; accept life for what it is or grasp the situation with both hands and make proactive steps to change it. In this song, we choose the latter.”

Starting out busking on the streets of York, before heading to almost every corner of the UK, Glass Caves quickly amassed a loyal and devoted following, who appreciate their no-nonsense, back to basics brand of self-promotion.

Such was the strength of those first initial ripples, that they rapidly became waves, and the band quickly found themselves playing a headline Club NME at London’s KOKOThe Great EscapeDot to DotIsle Wight FestivalReading & Leeds amongst countless other well-received dates that continue to cement their reputation as one of UK’s best loved touring bands.

Not content with being on top of their live game alone however, the band’s DIY roots and inexhaustible work ethic recently caught the attention of the BBC, who commissioned a Newsbeat documentary charting their rise from back-street buskers to major radio darlings, while their self-funded debut ‘Alive’ made Record Store Day‘s Top 40 at the time of its release.

Glass Caves are set to return to the live arena later this year with four live shows next month – the details of which can be found below.
