CLEARLY MUSIC, ARTS & WELLNESS FESTIVAL
—A CELEBRATION OF CULTURE, COMMUNITY AND LIVE MUSIC IN THE HEART OF KIAMA

+ CLEARER WORKSHOPS
—A CONFERENCE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR EMERGING MUSICIANS

Today, Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival introduces its debut event, a three-stage, all-ages music festival in the waterfront setting of Kiama Showground on November 11, 2023.

Through live music, art exhibitions, wellness activations, and more, the all-ages festival will feature a scintillating selection of creative talent from across the country and spotlight the diverse community groups that represent the creative life of the Illawarra region.

Headlining the inaugural edition of Clearly, Arts & Wellness Festival on the main stage is a multitude of legendary Australian talent, including iconic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd, ARIA-nominated surf and garage rock trio Skeggs, and critically acclaimed singer-songwriters Ruby Fields and Gretta Ray

Illawarra’s own Big Twisty & The Funknasty will bring their signature brand of frenzied funk to the loaded lineup, with bandleader Dom Littrich moonlighting as the main stage host. Also on the local front is ARIA Gold-awarded artist Tyne-James Organ who’ll be bringing his evocative songwriting and spellbinding sonics to the stage, alongside the dreamy pop prowess of multi-instrumentalist Stevan.

Completing the live component of the annual festival are the kaleidoscopic pop-rock sounds of Queensland’s Hope D, the raucous rock ‘n’ roll stylings of Sydney’s Gully Days, the awe-inspiring musicality of ARIA-nominated artist Emily Wurramara, the country twang of Double Barrel and the rock ‘n’ soul sonics of The Polymics, supported by a plethora of up-and-coming local DJs including Groove Society.

Co-Founder of Cleary Music, Arts & Wellness Festival, Dom Furber says: “I have always dreamed of delivering a festival of this scale locally since throwing my first event in Sydney Harbour in 2010.  I was born in the area, attended primary school in Gerringong and high school in Kiama, so have close ties to the local community. Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival and the Clearer Workshop will provide a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their talents and connect with audiences from all over. We can’t wait to see the positive impact this festival will have on the community this year and in the years to come.”

Alongside a traditional live music offering, another cornerstone of the annual event is a 1-day Clearer Workshop led by industry leaders. At the centre of the workshop will be a conference and collaborative learning experience open to the public and held at Kiama’s Pavilion on November 10. Specifically designed to create clearer pathways to success for musicians, performers, songwriters, rappers, producers and DJs, the diverse line-up will offer attendees invaluable industry knowledge, artist development advice, and opportunities to help grow their artistry and amplify their projects. Applications for emerging artists are now open here.

Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival is made possible with a range of integral industry partnerships, including AIME, Natural Necessity, Be Here Nowra, Baseline Happiness, Werri Beach Boardriders Club, Rainbow South Coast and more TBA. $1 from every ticket purchase to the festival will also be donated We Are Warriors, an Indigenous social enterprise dedicated to celebrating blak excellence and empowering Indigenous youth.

Says AIME; “Step into a world where the magic of music and the transformative force of kindness converge! AIME is thrilled to announce an extraordinary partnership with the vibrant and spirited Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival. Together, we are embarking on an audacious mission to spread kindness and compassion and create lasting change that resonates far beyond the stage.”

Save the date for one of the South Coast’s most exciting new music, arts and wellness offerings, coming to Kiama this November. Expect like-minded people enjoying the unique creative life of the region in an accessible setting. Watch this space, with more announcements to come.

We humbly acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional owners and custodians of the land upon which we are gathered. We extend our gratitude to the Wodiwodi people of the Dharawal Country and Kiarama for their enduring connection to this land, rooted in their profound cultural and spiritual beliefs. We honour their ongoing relationship with the land, sea, culture, and traditional practices.

In recognising the significance of this connection, we also extend our most profound respect to the Elders, both past and present, and future generations. We acknowledge the immense sorrow endured by the Stolen Generations and the enduring impacts of colonisation on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
