IYAMAH
ANNOUNCES UK HEADLINE TOUR FOR MAY 2024
Soulful R&B, singer-songwriter IYAMAH has announced a UK headline tour for May 2024 where she’ll perform a run of very special shows in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, London and Brighton.
Growing up on the sounds of African drumming and reggae music in the seaside town of Brighton (UK), IYAMAH began to use songwriting at the piano as a way of diary-like expression at age twelve. By sixteen, immersed in the festival culture and vibrancy from dub and DnB nights, she started writing top lines for DnB tracks with Brighton-based label Shogun Audio. She went on to feature on My Nu Leng’s “Senses”, touring the summer festivals including Glastonbury and SW4. She decided to follow her own path as a solo artist and focused on developing a distinct soulful R&B sound, which she describes as Rootsy Soul, as she continues to remain connected to her musical beginnings, favourite genres, and lyrical focus on identity, self-worth and female empowerment.
IYAMAH moved to London aged nineteen to study at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, winning a scholarship award for best vocals. She has since been handpicked to tour with the likes of Masego and Mahalia, recorded live sessions for Metropolis Songs, Redbull and Majestic Casual, and sold out multiple headline shows including The Jazz Café and OMEARA. She has accumulated over 17 million streams and received continuous support from Yazmin Evans and DJ Ace (BBC 1Xtra) and The Joe Budden Podcast.
IYAMAH has recently released her new single “Gemini Guy” taken from her upcoming 10-track project ‘In Two Worlds,’ which is due out on Friday 5th April. The track follows previous singles “Green Grass feat. Kofi Stone” and “Chasing Dreams” which saw extensive support from the likes of Victoria Jane (BBC Radio 1) and Jess Iszatt (BBC Introducing). IYAMAH has also gained huge media support on her latest track features including Shogun Audio’s Pola & Bryson “Too Shy” and Mafro’s “No Teacher” which was selected for Clara Amfo’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1.
