Hot off the back of a storming 17-date UK headline tour, Jake Bugg has dropped a stunning new track in ‘Seven Bridge Road’ – out today. Written with Andy and Jez Williams from Manchester rock natives Doves, the new song sees Jake fuse a bluegrass beat with memorable guitar lines and his distinct Midlands vocals.
“I met Andy and Jez from Doves in December last year and this is the first song we worked on together.” says Jake. “It’s gone down great in the live shows so it’s brilliant to be able to release it after the tour.”
Jake’s latest record Saturday Night, Sunday Morning is filled to the brim with Jake’s newfound sublime sound, the album is the apotheosis of an artist very much still at the top of his game. Embraced across media, The Times noted that the album “proves Jake to be a working-class songwriter of talent”, the Daily Star labelled it a “gift for pop” and Clash declared it as “an uplifting return”.
The album’s two stellar singles ‘All I Need’ & ‘Lost’, both produced by Steve Mac, have been inescapable hits, booming across the airwaves, playlisted on Radio 1, Radio 2 & Radio X, and Jake turned in a stellar performance of ‘All I Need’ on Graham Norton on BBC1.
The 27-year-old, who has 5 albums and numerous hit singles to his name, brought his blistering live shows back on the road last month, featuring 17 electrifying dates across the UK, treating fans to tracks from the latest record as well as some of his greatest hits.
With the recent unveiling of the documentary on Brazilian footballing legend ‘Ronaldinho’, that Jake has written the score for, 2022 is set to feature in similar fashion and see Jake take things to the next level. Listen to lead track ‘Ronnie Rockstar’ HERE as part of the Original Soundtrack.
2021 saw Jake grow into himself and go from strength to strength, stepping out of his comfort zone and entering the form of his life.
