Jamie Webster to party in the park with songs from the streets as he announces HUGE Sefton Park hometown show and details of new album…
10 FOR THE PEOPLE
Jamie In The Park – Sefton Park, Liverpool Live Date
Tickets On Sale Fri 11 Aug 2023 – 9am
Blazing through not only his biggest Glastonbury appearance in June, but two nights in front of a combined 24,000 people at Liverpool’s Pier Head a week later and enjoying a televised repeat performance on Glasgow’s TRNSMT’s Main Stage, those turning to look in Webster’s direction are discovering an artist inexorably on the rise.
With a previously announced Winter Tour now peaked by two sold out dates at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse, added dates in Glasgow, an upgrade in Sheffield and a showpiece night ahead at London’s iconic Roundhouse, yet no homecoming date, tickets for Sefton Park’s celebration are set to be summer 2024’s hottest as Webster returns to Merseyside. They go on general sale at 9am on Fri 11 August 2023 with all booking information online at https://JamieWebsterUK.lnk.to/10ForThePeoplePR/officialartiststore
Confirming that a total of ten, additional new tracks will join this summer’s popular first single from the album, Voice Of The Voiceless, Webster’s pledge to fans has been to sing songs that will always make sense to their real lives whilst upping the sonic ante. Like 2021’s No.3-charting success story album, Moments, Webster assembled 10 For The People in the company of producer, Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers, Kylie Minogue), in a range of studio settings over the last 18 months, including the infamous Rockfield Studios in south Wales and, for the first time, the musician’s own studio in the former industrial heartlands of his home city.
Now undeniably one of the UK’s most successful independent artists, hurdling the conforming star-making structures of old and turning a mutually closed ear and eye to slow-to-catch-up cultural gatekeepers in the capital, 10 For The People’s sense of ambition and ‘told-you-so’ overflows in every glorious chorus, pinpoint couplet and acerbic takedown of society’s creaking old power structures. Enlisting his hero and forebear of potent, mainstream political songwriting, Billy Bragg, for vocal duties on one track, Webster’s posing of bigger questions than most music dares to ask continues in legendary company.
Webster says: “This next album is specifically for the people, it’s brimming with stories, lessons and calls to action. It’s about making people feel like they’re not alone. It will provoke a lot of questions about what is actually going on today. I’m literally just highlighting a lot of tales and scenarios of different people that will speak of wider injustice.”
10 For The People is to be released on gold and black vinyl variants as well as CD and cassette formats. Fans can gain early access to Sefton Park tickets, 48 hours ahead of the general on sale, with album pre-orders made by midday Tue 8 August, choosing from standard, signed and special edition merchandise bundles, via Webster’s official store.
10 For The People builds on those foundations further with the confident promise of exceeding the expectations of existing fans and surprising anyone still to jump aboard. Inspired by his love for Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, as much as Laurel Canyon-era alt-folk Americana such as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Liverpool’s own, glorious musical heritage, the confirmed track listing for 10 For The People has been revealed as follows:
Better Day (feat. Brooke Combe)
