Jason Aldean Caps Off Day 3 of The Tortuga Music Festival 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 7, 2024

The 11th Rock The Ocean’s Tortuga Music Festival took over the sands of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park on April 5-7, 2024, bringing some of the biggest names in music to this idyllic setting. Tortuga Festival is unique in that it is primarily a country music festival, but it spices things up with the addition of legendary artists from other genres. The festival grounds are literally on the beach sand, with a massive VIP section constructed on the pavement next to the beach. There are tons of food and beverage vendors set up in a festival village, which is like a farmer’s market. Unique charities and merchandise have their own pop-up shops. The festival works directly with the Rock The Ocean Foundation, raising not only awareness but funding to the tune of more than $4 million dollars in donations over the past decade. All in all, this is one of the best festival experiences that the world has to offer.

Tortuga Music Festival 2024 Day Three capped off a glorious three-day weekend of sun and fun on Sunday, April 7, 2024. After a smooth entry into the day with the easy vibes of artists such as TLC and Wheeland Brothers, the vibe got heavy.  Bailey Zimmerman, Koe Wetzel, and Jason Aldean all featured multiple guitarists making all kinds of rock and roll noises. Tortuga Music Festival may be primarily a country music fest, but it definitely offers a variety of styles and sounds, which make for an incredible time rocking the ocean.

Wheeland Brothers features two surfing brothers from Southern California. They were a great addition to play early Sunday afternoon on the Sunset Stage.

TLC was phenomenal. Although Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez is no longer with us, they played her parts on tracks, to keep the classic songs alive in her memory. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins sings as smooth as ever, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas sounds fantastic as well. They both danced along with a team of male dancers, with choreographed moves delivered with a smile. TLC has so many hit songs, which made for an awesome show. It was a treat to be able to witness these pioneers of strong female music.

Dylan Gossett is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter. He graced the Next From Nashville stage, playing several hit songs, including the excellent “Coal”.

Bailey Zimmerman has exploded onto the country music scene. His entire catalog is stellar, and he continues to release hit after hit. His live show is dynamic and full of energy. He interacted constantly with the crowd, thanking them profusely for allowing him to be on the Main stage to perform for them. This is one show you definitely do not want to miss.

Koe Wetzel took the energy put out by Bailey Zimmerman and used it to electrify the Sunset Stage. As night descended on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Wetzel used his blend of country, rock, and grunge to entertain the fans, who needed the jolt after 3 straight days in the sun.

Jason Aldean capped off the entire weekend and it seemed that nobody wanted to leave early. He interacted with the crowd a lot, sharing how his love for rock and roll influenced his live show. Easily moving between bangers and ballads, Aldean did not disappoint.
