Since his last solo release in 2021, rapper, producer and cultural disruptor JPEGMAFIA has had a wildly impactful run. Touring relentlessly in support of a raucous, confrontational back catalogue which has ignited imaginations worldwide, JPEGMAFIA consolidated his status as one of global music’s most incendiary talents with SCARING THE HOES; a collaborative album alongside one of his closest contemporaries Danny Brown that ended 2023 as one of the year’s most talked about and acclaimed LPs while debuting at 84 on the Billboard 200 and 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. A fast and furious double-headed tour followed that cemented the duo’s impact as one of the most explosive shows on earth. Alongside this, JPEGMAFIA contributed to another one of recent history’s most debated cultural moments – VULTURES 1, the collaborative album from Ye and Ty Dolla $ign – marking a further crossover leap into the mainstream consciousness. Today, JPEGMAFIA emerges for his first solo material in nearly 4 years in the form of ‘don’t rely on other men’.

A dynamic, confrontational cut of progressively minded hip hop, ‘don’t rely on other men’ is the perfect re-introduction to JPEGMAFIA’s authoritative flow. Sending direct shots and the state of contemporary rap’s lack of authenticity, the self-produced track maintains a foreboding atmosphere throughout it’s 3min 14 runtime, introducing elements of boom-bap, rock, patchwork sampling, and a gargantuan distorted bassline. ‘don’t rely on other men’ displays all the hallmarks of the kind of intensity that JPEGMAFIA is known for, with a simultaneous laser focus and unpredictability which is unable to be replicated anywhere else.

Alongside the release of ‘don’t rely on other men’, JPEGMAFIA also announces the “LAY DOWN MY LIFE” world tour, a global invitation into the world of one of contemporary music’s most visceral performers. Beginning in North America, the tour will compound the power of a JPEGMAFIA live show courtesy of a discography spanning set that underlines the true influence of the artist’s diverse, constantly growing catalogue. ABOUT JPEGMAFIA:

JPEGMAFIA (Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, “Peggy”) is a multi-talented experimental rapper, producer, and performer known for his scathing lyrics and genre-defying productions. With an addicting confrontational style, JPEGMAFIA’s music is a bold commentary on contemporary culture, delivered with dark humor and unfiltered honesty.

Peggy has announced a worldwide headline tour for 2024/2025 in support of his upcoming solo album. This follows his very successful 2023 headline tour alongside Danny Brown for their collaborative album “Scaring the Hoes,” which included sold-out shows at iconic venues like Terminal 5 and the Palladium. His electrifying stage presence and unique sound have made him a must-see live act.

Recent festival highlights include standout performances at Primavera Sound, Pitchfork Music Festival, CDMX, Listen Out, with upcoming appearances at Portola Festival, Outbreak Fest, and more. In recent years, JPEGMAFIA has released critically acclaimed projects such as “Veteran” (2018), “All My Heroes Are Cornballs” (2019), and “LP!” (2021). His 2023 collaboration with Danny Brown, “Scaring the Hoes,” debuted at number 84 on the Billboard 200 and entered at position 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, while also charting in six other countries including Canada and the UK.
