Liverpool band STONE, who are currently on tour with Yungblud, announce their first headline tour through the UK this February. The band, which NME recently described as “bruising post-punk full of Scouse spirit and soul”, are set to bring their energetic live sets to Glasgow, Bristol, London, Birmingham, Manchester and a hometown headline show in Liverpool. Ahead of the tour, the band will play at Live At Leeds festival, and headline an initial headline show at Liverpool’s Arts Club Loft this November, a show which sold out six months in advance.
The tour news follows STONE’s recent tour with The Blinders and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, as well as explosive appearances as Reading & Leeds Festivals, as captured by BBC Introducing. Their latest single ‘Let’s Dance To The Real Thing’ premiered recently on BBC 6Music with Steve Lamacq, and has seen further support from Clara Amfo on BBC Radio 1.
Like many new young bands, STONE’s introduction to the scene has been less than conventional. Dropping their first track ‘Leave It Out’ shortly before national lockdown, STONE’s rite-of-passage experience of playing live shows was cut short, and their following single ‘Fuse’ emerged directly from that sense of stagnancy and restlessness. Despite this, STONE have quickly built a name for themselves in the North West scene, with the return of live gigs seeing them make further waves across the UK.
STONE are Fin Power (vocals/guitar), Sarah Surrage (bass), Elliot Gill (lead guitar) and Alex Smith (drums). In true Gen Z fashion, STONE are a diffusion of the limitless cultures and subcultures they’ve had access to growing up in the digital age. Through their music, the band hope to capture the dizzying experience of youth culture in Liverpool and the paradox of their own young adulthood as they navigate the limbo between youth and maturity.
