Rising Alt-pop singer Lois has shared the video for her huge second single ‘Twist In The Wind’,
Based in Leeds, Lois crafts soulful alternative pop with an intelligent edge, building on real life experiences to craft something entirely unique and resonant, drawing influence from late-R&B and soul.
Last month saw Lois emerge with the stunning ‘The Way You Are’, a gorgeous track that firmly established her sound and showcased the broad range of influences that make her material so unique, seeing support from a wealth of tastemaker titles as well as extensive play on BBC Introducing.
Now, she returns to secure her seat at the table with ‘Twist In The Wind’, out today via Fear Records. An ode to addressing your demons and starting again, the track combines resonant and poetic lyrical work with beautiful winding vocals and a relaxed, immersive backbeat, showcasing another side to Lois’ sound and seamlessly accentuating her unbelievable talent.
Speaking about ‘Twist In The Wind’, Lois said: “I wrote it when I was experiencing a really difficult time in my life and the first time I had really experienced the reality of bad mental health…Twist in the wind is about me having a word with myself and figuring out why I was feeling this way in order to actively put in the steps to change my life and start again.”

Few acts would make their debut live performance at one of the world’s most acclaimed festivals, but Lois isn’t like the rest.
Hailing from Leeds, where she is currently studying, Lois is the latest signing to Fear Records, and is primed to take the alt-pop world by storm this summer. Crafting emotive alternative pop with a soulful edge, her music is akin to the wealth of stunning talent emerging in the UK at the moment, drawing comparisons to the likes of Arlo Parks and Joy Crookes but equally operating totally in her own lane.
Her debut single, ‘The Way You Are’, effortlessly sets the tone for what’s to come, as caramel-smooth vocals melt over muted guitars and a jazz-tinged backbeat. lt’s an instant insight into a unique take on life experiences and introspective lyrical work. Her influences lie in classic R&B and Soul, which come together with her own narrative to form something beautiful and progressive. Her music puts her life so far under the microscope, from growing up in Lancaster to a city move via relationships and struggles along the way, culminating in material that is honest and outspoken.
