Following a string of acclaimed singles, rising British singer-songwriter and guitarist Matilda Mann unveils her much-anticipated debut album, Roxwell, out now via 7476 (pinkpirate, Hohnen Ford, Lexie Carroll, Matt Maltese). The album is a testament to Mann’s artistry, blending intimate folk storytelling with indie-pop melodies, jazzy undertones, and sweeping orchestral flourishes. The album arrives hand-in-hand with the evocative new single ‘See You Later’, with a visually captivating video set to drop next week.

A deeply personal body of work, Roxwell is as much a love letter to the past as it is a reflection on the poignant realities of growing up. From the intimate corners of bedrooms to the bustle of city streets and the quiet solace of countryside retreats, the album tracks Mann’s evolution as an artist and as a person. Themes of first love in Tell Me That I’m Wrong, heartbreak in Common Sense, and the enduring strength of childhood friendships in her new single Girls are all explored.

Recently named BBC Radio 1’s Future Artist of the Month and praised by NME, Clash, DORK, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, COLORS, Rolling Stone UK, Hunger, Wonderland, The Independent and more, Mann’s rise has been nothing short of unstoppable. With a 15-date UK & EU headline tour kicking off in April, her lead singles ‘Meet Cute’, ‘Dazed & Confused’, ‘Just Because’, and ‘Say It Back’ have already amassed millions of streams, received heavy rotation across BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, and Radio X, and earned her Best Pop/R&B/Soul Video – Newcomer at the UK Music Video Awards.

Speaking about the record, Mann shares “This is my debut album. Every song feels like a part of me, and I’m so, so excited that it’s finally out in the world. It explores different kinds of love, growing up, and accepting what you can’t change. Some songs I wrote almost subconsciously, only realising their meaning later. It’s terrifying to put something so personal out there, but I’m incredibly proud of it and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.”

From lyrics pencilled in her diary to demos played through the kitchen speaker, Roxwell is a living, breathing portrayal of Matilda Mann. Through the years, ‘Roxwell’ has been her constant and has seen the twist and turns of the bittersweet transition to adulthood. This first full-length record is an intimate portrayal – capturing love in its myriad forms. The tracks are as varied as their subjects, but tying it all together are Mann’s classic lyrics – witty, wise and leaving you wondering what else she meant.

Expanding further, she adds: “It’s everything I want to say and more. Some songs were written almost subconsciously and only came to light when I needed to truly acknowledge my feelings. It’s terrifying to put it out into the world, but I’m also incredibly proud of it and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life.”

From the hazy, jazz-laced tones of ‘At the End of the Day’ to the electrifying pulse of ‘Dazed & Confused’, Mann effortlessly dances between intimate reflection and euphoric release, making Roxwell an album that both captivates and excites. The shimmering ‘Meet Cute’, co-written with Oscar Scheller, captures the giddy, intoxicating thrill of new beginnings, while her words, as ever, remain deeply introspective, tenderly revealing the vulnerability that lies beneath the surface. Tying it all together is Mann’s signature lyrical wit—wry, wistful, and effortlessly poetic.

Having performed alongside contemporaries such as Laufey at The Royal Albert Hall, The Staves, Holly Humberstone, Arlo Parks, and Beabadoobee, Mann’s live shows are equally as captivating. She has sold out headline shows at Jazz Cafe, Lafayette, and EartH in London, and has graced the Park Stage at Glastonbury Festival. Most recently, she joined Bombay Bicycle Club on their single ‘Fantasneeze’ and collaborated with US alt-pop artist Spill Tab.
