MAY has shared her self-produced debut ‘EP1’ today via foundation.fm records. It comes after the recent single ‘Cynthia’ and before she heads to play Pitchfork Paris early next month.

Along with ‘Cynthia’ the five-track EP features previous singles ‘PHONE ME’ and ‘Interiya’ and this self-produced EP is a wildly inventive body of work form this south London-based artists who has already picked up wide critical-acclaim with her idiosyncratic music and visuals across press and radio. The EP showcases in greater depth her lyrical songwriting which encompasses the fleeting thoughts and stories that arise from the everyday as contemporary pop instincts meet captivating vocals and hip-hop inspired beats and joyous electronic productions which have been entirely written and produced by MAY.  It was recorded at Studio 13 (founded by Damon Albarn).

Already MAY has been handpicked to support some of the most forward-thinking artists around over the last 18 months including Jockstrap, black midi and Wu-Lu and recently MAY was invited to put together a guest mix for BBC 6 Music.

MAY has a strong visual identity which has been seen in her three previous videos. She has collaborated with award-winning artists such as Rachel Flemninger Hudson, Shane Moulton, No Format, Lara McGrath aka The Goat Dancer and Josh Onabowu, helping cement her position as one of the most exciting and intriguing new artists to emerge over the last 12 months.
