POP STORYTELLER RELEASES NEVER WASTE A HEARTBREAK EP

INCLUDES SINGLES ‘2053’ & ‘COMPATIBLE’

2023 witnessed rising singer-songwriter Bellah Mae reach new heights, taking her meticulously crafted anthems on the road as part of her first ever sold-out UK tour and connecting with fans across the country, all whilst ranking up an impressive 40 million streams across releases. Now firmly poised to make 2024 her biggest year so far, Bellah has released her Never Waste A Heartbreak EP via EMI Records. “The title of this new EP means a lot to me as it enforces that no matter what happens there’s always a positive. If you’re in a heartbreak, you have so much opportunity to become such an empowered version of yourself, learning that you can move past anything and grow even stronger from it.” – Bellah Mae.

Up until the release, the storyteller has shared a collection of self-written demos and late night covers to tease fans across her social media, doubling her Instagram following and gaining over 10 million video views in the process. To help mend this broken heart of hers, Bellah has enlisted the Hot Ex Girlfriend community to sculpt the tracklisting for Never Waste A Heartbreak – asking them to choose their favourites which’ll soon form the personalised project they can proudly say they were part of.

Bellah’s debut EP With All Due Respect released last year and showcased her intimate brand of song writing, making use of a winning combination of “big feelings, little details” that charmed the likes of Daily Star, Wonderland and House of Solo with her vivid writing that places her among her Gen-Z contemporaries like Olivia Rodrigo or Sabrina Carpenter, carving relatable and honest stories to be screamed back to her by crowds of her peers. Bellah Mae’s writing style incorporates her influences ranging from Dolly Parton to Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus. In the tradition of other Gen Z artists her music defies categorisation, incorporating ever expending sonic touchstones to create something that feels wholly unique.

ORLANDO WEEKS

NEW ALBUM LOJA OUT NOW

PHYSICAL RELEASE SET FOR AUGUST 23RD

From his influential time with The Maccabees to the multi-faceted ‘Gritterman’ story and two highly acclaimed solo albums, Orlando Weeks has carved a niche as one of the UK’s most singular talents. That reputation will further flourish with the release his new album ‘LOJA’ digitally on all platforms now; with physical formats to follow on August 23rd via Fiction Records.
‘LOJA’ is a record in which place is as vital a characteristic as the emotions and incidents that he explores. The overarching themes are optimism and reflection: the positive mindset that emerged as he left London for a new life in Lisbon together with a new-found awareness about the things that you have left behind. Contentment emanates like a comforting embrace from an old friend. Yet life can never be as linear or as pure as unfiltered unhappiness and so ‘LOJA’ on occasion captures more corrosive moods too, from whispered confrontations to witnessing shocking tragedy in otherwise beautiful serenity.

‘LOJA’ simmers with an engaging, organic warmth derived primarily from members of Orlando’s live band (Sami El-Enany, William Doyle, Alexander Painter and Luca Caruso), yet it also benefits from an array of nuanced details that, on first listen, hide stealthily in plain sight before revealing themselves with repeated listens. The process started late in 2022, but only gathered pace after he relocated to Lisbon before the bulk of the record was made in thirteen days in Chale Abbey Studios on the Isle of Wight with producer Sergio Maschetzko (Black Country New Road) and his collaborator David Granshaw, before Orlando teamed up with Nathan Jenkins (Bullion) to add the finer final touches.

SABRINA CARPENTER

RELEASES NEW SINGLE + MUSIC VIDEO ‘PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE’

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM

SHORT N’ SWEET OUT AUGUST 23RD

Following her global #1 hit ‘Espresso’, debut Saturday Night Live performance, and buzzy Coachella set, Sabrina Carpenter releases her new single and music video entitled ‘Please Please Please’. The release accompanies the announcement of her highly anticipated new album, Short n’ Sweet, out on August 23, 2024 via Polydor Records.

Teaming up with GRAMMY-Award-winning collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen, ‘Please Please Please’ highlights her razor-sharp lyrics and signature conversational delivery over buoyant production as she begs, “Please Please please don’t prove I’m right. Please please please don’t bring me to tears when I just did my makeup so nice!” Directed by Bardia Zeinali and co-starring Barry Keoghan, the cinematic video seamlessly projects this vibe on screen, continuing a tradition of bold visuals by the songstress.

The song lands in the wake of her bona fide summer smash ‘Espresso’. Scaling charts worldwide, the Platinum-certified hit is her fourth to land on the Billboard Hot 100 and her first Top 5 on the chart, currently earning her a career peak at #4. It captured the #1 spot on the Spotify Global, US, and UK charts, hitting #1 on the UK Singles Chart for five consecutive weeks. The single’s success only increased the incredible momentum generated from the platinum hit ‘Feather’, which scored her first #1 at Top 40 Radio.

GIVES FANS A RIDE INSIDE HIS MIND WITH NEW SINGLE & MUSIC VIDEO ‘BMXXing’

mgk gives fans a ride inside his mind as he releases his new song “BMXXing.” Directed by Sam Cahill, the music video displays mgk’s affinity for BMX and skateboarding as he pays homage to the beloved communities. He fires away sticky punchlines like “God knows it’s been a rough ride like DMX” and “The closest I’ve been to having dollars is 50 cents, but with this pen, I’ve killed many men.” It’s not all witty wordplay for mgk, as his hallmark for pain and honesty finds its way back in this BNYX®-produced track. After delivering a snippet of the song last week, “BMXXing” answers fans’ call for “summer vibes,” as he delivers heavy doses of hard-nosed raps and pure nostalgia.

In March, mgk partnered with Ohio brethren Trippie Redd for their joint project genre: sadboy. The emo-laden effort features singles such as “beauty” and “lost boys.” Following the release of genre: sadboy, mgk, and Trippie delivered back-to-back performances in New York and Ohio to celebrate the project, proving why they are easily amongst the best duos in music.

BRING ME THE HORIZON

RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘Top 10 staTues tHat CriEd bloOd’

FROM THEIR CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM

NeX Gen

Bring Me The Horizon reveal a new single, ‘Top 10 staTues tHat CriEd bloOd’, from their critically acclaimed new album NeX Gen. The digital release of the album has now been streamed a massive 100 million times in 14 days and earned them the title of most streamed rock band on the planet on release, as well as becoming the third highest streamed album that week behind Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. The band also announced the physical release of NeX Gen, out September 27th via RCA/SONY.

‘Top 10 staTues tHat CriEd bloOd’ is already a fan favourite; it is an intense emo-tinged anthem showcasing frontman Oli Sykes’ vocals to their melodic best. The cinematic video sees the band perform a dystopian gig to a sea of rabid otherworldly fans and cyborgs. Oli adds “Statues dives deeper into the world of post human. The video continues the exploration of what it means to be human in an age where technology can alter our very nature and gives keen eyed fans more lore to dive into and discuss on their quest for uncovering the full post human lore.”

The album is the latest chapter in the series to be revealed and sees the band expanding both musically and conceptually. Following on from 2020’s POST HUMAN: Survival Horror – which featured collaborations with YUNGBLUD, Nova Twins, BABYMETAL and Evanescence’s Amy Lee, and includes the huge hit singles ‘Teardrops’ and ‘Obey’. Sonically the album hits heavy, whilst frontman Oli’s vocals are his most melodic to date. Bring Me The Horizon entered 2024 with an explosive start having played to over 140,000 fans in the UK & Ireland on their biggest UK arena tour to date, winning the BRIT Award for Best Alternative/Rock Act, announcing their first stadium show in São Paulo, Brazil and now breaking new ground with the release of NeX GEn. The band begin a run of headline festival appearances throughout Europe in June.
